This is the fewest number of community resource -related conversations conducted in 2017. It should be noted that the CRC was on vacation for the final 6 days of April; conversations may have occurred between library staff and patrons that were not recorded. Patron needs April 2017 Benefit Mental I-lealth Physical Health Assistance Legal Education Other In April, 4 of the 7 interviews were conducted with men. Historically, about 66% of interviews have been conducted with women. One patron reported a history of domestic violence. Historically, 21.7% of interviews have revealed histories of domestic violence. We were able to refer patrons to resources within Georgetown in 71.4% of interviews this month which is about 12% higher compared to past local referral rates. This can be partially attributed to the large number of individuals in need of financial assistance which can often be attained via The Caring Place. An interview was conducted with a veteran for the first time in 2017. Below are notes captured on referrals from this month: • Patron already accessing services through BBT (Bluebonnet Trails) and CP (Caring Place). Searching for way to make money while on dialysis. Reports dx of schizophrenia and Hep C. No car. • Patron already with CP case manager. Spoke with CM (case manager). • Patron seeking [SL classes. Referred them to the Literacy Council of Williamson County. • Referred to BBT and CP • Chronically homeless patron searching for food source over holiday weekend. • Referred to BBT and Christi Center. • Housing is "falling apart." Referred to habitat (for Humanity) and CP for repairs. Happenings for June; Since the last Hoard meeting l have added 2 new permanent bookmobile stops to our monthly calendar: Wesleyan independent, Phase 2 — East building will be on the V & 31d Thursday of each month at 4pm. The Wowlmobile already stops at the first Wesleyan Independent building. l anticipate this being a very successful addition to the calendar. We have a lovely professional relationship with the staff and are mutually interested In serving the residents to the best of our ability. Georgetown Square Apartments will be on the 2"d and 4' Wednesday of each month at 4:45pm. Wow! stopped here a few years ago in the mornings and was canceled due to low attendance. I'm hoping the new 4:45 time slot and the cooperation of new and enthusiastic management will help nurture our second attempt at success: Rough 2 weeks for the WOW ... and maybe Kalena The bus was out of service for almost 2 weeks for body repair. The service time ran longer than initially scheduled and we all know that Sun City waits for no (wo)man so, I had to improvise. Many people still missed me despite my best efforts. I would like to request the purchase of a large car magnet with the WOWlmobile logo/graphics on it so I have more of an identifying mark on whatever van COG gives me in these circumstances. Page 14 of 18 'SWIMMING IN WORDS' I have reached out and paired up with the Aquatics Supervisor (Aaron Duke) with COG's Parks & Recreation department to offer a wowmobile meetup for the kilos in the Algerita neighborhood. The kids will receive a punch card pass for Williams Dr. Pool that looks like this: This program will replace Run&Read. It's just too Bang hot: Hopefully this will draw some kids out of their air conditioned living room to hang out and have some library sponsored free fun withtheircommunity. ***REMINDER*** SUMMEMM!
