ORDINANCE
DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NO'T'ICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE
CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON
CITY OF GEORGETOWN
WHEREAS, the City deems it advisable to give notice of
intention to issue certificates of obligation in the amount
of $750,000, for the purpose of paying, in whole or -in part,
contractual obligations for improving and extending the
City's combined Waterworks and Sewer System, and to pay all
or a portion of the engineering, legal and fiscal fees in
connection with this project, payable from ad valorem taxes
and the revenues from the City's Utility System, being the
City's combined Waterworks, Sewer and Electric Light System;
and
WHEREAS, it is hereby officially found and determined
that a case of emergency or urgent public necessity exists
which requires the holding of the meeting at which this
Ordinance is passed, such emergency or urgent public neces-
sity being that the notice of intention to issue certifi-
cates of obligation should be puhlished.as soon as possible
and without delay for necessary and urgently neaded public
improvements; and that said meeting was open to the public
and public notice of the time, place, and purpose of said
meeting was given, all as required by Art. 6252-17%,
V.A.T.C.S.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY U"
GEORGETOWN:
1. That attached hereto is a form of the Notice of
Intention to issue Certificates of Obligation, the form and
substance of which is hereby adopted and approved.
2. That the City Secretary shall cause said notice to
be published in substantially the form attached hereto, in a
newspaper of general circulation in said City, and published
in said City, on the same day in each of two consecutive
weeks, the date of the first publication thereon to be at
least 14 days prior to the time set for the issuance of suc::b.
certificates of obligation as shown in said notice.
3. That the fact that the City Council considers t1 -e
passa3e of this ordinance ?nd the issuance of the cezti:�i -
cates of obligation necessa;�y for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health, safety and welfare, creates an
emergency and -an imperative public necessity that the rule
requiring ordinances to be read at more than. one meeting of
the City Council before final passage be suspended, and said
rule is hereby suspended, and that this ordinance take.
effect and be in force and effect immediately from and after
its passage at this meeting, and it is so ordained.
