RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has identified needs related
to improving the quality of,life of low and moderate income persons,
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown through an emergency public-
private sector partnership that will benefit all citizens, including
low and moderate income, both directly and indirectly in assisting
with economic development, and
WHEREAS, the strategies developed by the City of Georgetown
will improve the quality of the economic and social environment,
contribute to the elimination of poverty, and establish permanent
economic and social benefits, and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services,
Office of Community Services - Community Services Block Grant Discre-
tionary Program, is to assist communities with Urban and Rural Com-
munity Economic Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
I. The City of Georgetown apply for Community Services Discre-
tionary Block Grant under the terms ana conditions of the United States
of America and to its delegates, and shall enter into and agree to the
understandings and assurances contained in said application.
2. The City of Georgetown supports the proposed activities
described above.
