HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 12.13.1977 - Financial SettlementRESOLUTION CONCURRING WITH THE GEORGETOWN URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY IN A REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SETTLEMENT TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE DEPART- MENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT. WHEREAS, South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Project No. Tex R-102 had a goal of relocating 175 families, 64 individual and 25_businesses into safe, sanitary and decent housing; and WHEREAS, 166 families, 64 individuals and 25 businesses have been relocated into safe, sanitary and decent housing; and WHEREAS, it was the goal to provide the residents of the Urban Renewal Project area with paved, curbed and guttered streets, adequate water, sewer and electrical systems, and WHEREAS, the main item that is not substantially complete is the disposition of a number of residential lots; and WHEREAS, it is not considered financially practical to maintain an Urban Renewal Agency to administer the sale of these lots; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown will administer the sale of the remaining lots, nowtherefore Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, that the City Council concurs in the request for Financial Settlement being submitted to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
