RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN
AUTHORIZING THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT OF 689 SQUARE
FOOT PORTION OF AN UNNAMED MUNICIPAL RIGHT-OF-WAY
LOCATED ON LOT 6-A, REPLAT OF LOT 6, BLOCK 52, CITY OF
GEORETOWN, AS DESCRIBED IN THE METES AND BOUNDS WITH
SKETCH ON EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO, AND BEING LOCATED
ON THE EAST LINE OF MAIN STREET BETWEEN 8TH AND 9TH STREETS.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has received a request to abandon a 689 square foot
tract of land, and being a portion of Lot 6-A, Replat of Lot 6, Block 52, City of Georgetown, as
described in the map of plat recorded in Document 2017098522. Said tract being described on
Exhibits "A" attached hereto (the "Property"); and
WHEREAS, Lot 6-A is utilized by the City for the placement and operation of utility
infrastructure and provision of City services to nearby properties; and
WHEREAS, the Property is not necessary for the placement, maintenance or continued
operation of any City services; and
WHEREAS, the applicant owns Lot 6-13 adjoining the Property to the south; and,
WHEREAS, upon considering the request for vacation and abandonment of the Property
and additional information pertaining to the request, the City Council finds that a public need for
the Property no longer exists, and that such Property may then be vacated and abandoned; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager, or his designee, has reviewed this request and has no
objection to the vacation and abandonment of the Property, subject to the conditions described
herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that the
adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any of the City's 2030
Comprehensive Plan policies.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Deed Without Warranty in
substantially the same form attached hereto as Exhibit "BJ' and any other conveyance

document(s) necessary to complete the vacation and abandonment of the Property described
herein, and the City Secretary is authorized to attest thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown,
subject to receipt of payment.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.

TEXAS, BEING OUT OF LOT 6-A, REPLAT OF LOT 6, BLOCK 52, CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, A MAP OF WHICH IS RECORDED IN DOCUMENT NO.
2017098522, OF THE OFFICIAL PUBLIC RECORDS OF WILLIAMSON
COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID 689 SQUARE FOOT TRACT OF LAND BEING MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AS FOLLOWS:
BEGINNING, at a 1/2 inch iron rod with cap stamped "STEGER BIZZELL" found on the east
right-of-way line of South Main Street, a 60 foot wide roadway, as dedicated on the
recorded map of said City of Georgetown, for the northwest corner of Lot 6-13, said REPLAT
OF LOT 6, BLOCK 52, CITY OF GEORGETOWN, same point being the southwest corner of
said Lot 6A and the southwest corner of the herein described tract;
THENCE, North 03°00'56" West, with said common line of South Main Street and Lot 6-
A, a distance of 5.73 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron rod with cap stamped "STEGER BIZZELL" set
for the northwest corner of the herein described tract, from which point a mag nail found
on the east right-of-way line of South Main Street, for the southwest corner of Lot 3, said
Block 52, same point being the northwest corner of said Lot 6-A, bears North 03000'56"
West, a distance of 14.27 feet;
THENCE, North 87044'52" East, severing said Lot 6-A, a distance of 120.31 feet, to a
magnail with washer stamped "STEGER BIZZELL" set on the east boundary line of said Lot
6-A, same line being the west line of Lot 5, Block 52, CITY OF GEORGETOWN, for the
northeast corner of the herein described tract, from which point a 1/2 inch iron rod found
disturbed, for the common corner of said Lot 6-A, said Lot 3 and said Lot 5, and Lot 4, said
Block 52, bears North 03°00'56" West, a distance of 14.27, and North 66"11'49" East, a
distance of 0.31 feet;
THENCE, South 03000'56" East, with the common line of said Lot 5 and said Lot 6-A, a
distance of 5.73 feet, to a mag nail found for the southeast corner of the herein described
tract, same point being the southeast corner of said Lot 6-A, and same point being the
