HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 05.13.1986 - Texas General Obligation BondsRESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas desires to receive bids for the purchase of its $1,500,000 General Obligation -Bonds, Series 1986; and WHEREAS, First Southwest Company, Dallas, Texas, has been authorized and requested to prepare a Notice of Sale and Bidding Instructions, Official Bid Form and Official Statement containing financial, economic and other data necessary and desirable to attract bids for said bonds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: That the attached Notice of Sale and Bidding Instructions, Official Bid Form and Official Statement relative to $1,500,000 City of Georgetown, Texas General Obligation Bonds, Series 1986, are hereby approved, both as to form and content, and said First Southwest Company is authorized to distribute said Notice of Sale and Bidding Instructions, Official Bid Form and Official Statement to prospective bidders for, and purchasers of, the bonds. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 13th day of May, 1986, by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, convened in session IV with a lawful quorum present. (512) 478-4372 A rule of the Municipal Securities Ruiemaking Board, under which we operate, requires that we advise you in writing of our intention to bid for our own account or with others for your $1,500,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 1986 and that we have your written consent to do so. Our Financial Advisory Agreement, the Notice of Sale and the Official Statement to be mailed to prospective bidders and purchasers of your Bonds shall state: "First Southwest Company is employed as Financial Advisor to the City in connection with the issuance of the Bonds. The Financial Advisor's fee for services rendered with respect to the sale of the Bonds is contingent upon the issuance and delivery of the Bonds. First Southwest Company may submit a bid for the Bonds, either independently or as a member of a syndicate organized to submit a bid for the Bonds." It would be appreciated if you would indicate your approval by signing this letter in the space provided below.
