HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 1985 - Demarcation Round RockResolution of Understanding and Agreement Between the City of Round Rock, Texas and the City of Georgetown, Texas Establishing a Line of Demarcation for Expansion of Each City's Respective Extra - Territorial Jurisdiction WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock, Texas and the City of Georgetown, Texas have identified a need to provide for the orderly and logical future expansion of their corporate limits; and WHEREAS, each City has established a separate extra- territorial jurisdiction in which they exercise development authority; and WHEREAS, the extra -territorial jurisdiction of each City may be expanded from time to time as the corporate area of the City increases; and WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock, Texas and the City of Georgetown, Texas desire to cooperate in establishing a line of demarcation across which neither City will expand its extra -territorial 3urisdication; and WHEREAS, the line of demarcation is established and described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of the William S. Parker Survey Abstract A-9 , thence North 710 East to the Southeast corner of the said William S. Parker Survey; Thence, North 190 West along the East boundary of the said William S. Parker Survey and continuing along the common boundary of the Walter Campbell Survey, Abstract A-3,and the Anastasha Carr Survey, Abstract A-122 to the Northeast corner of the said Walter Campbell Survey; Thence, North 71° East along the Northern boundary of the Anastasha Carr Survey to the Northeast corner of said Anastasha Carr Survey; Thence, South 19° East along the East boundary line of the Anastasha Carr Survey and continuing along the East boundary line of the J.D. Anderson Survey, Abstract A-16, coinciding with the West boundary of the John Powell Survey, Abstract A-491, to the Southwest corner of the Powell Survey; Thence, North 710 East a distance of 5,800' along the Southern boundary line of the John Powell Survey; Thence North 19° West a distance of 4,7251; OR5 Thence, North 710 East a distance of 6,3751; Thence, South 50 East a distance of 1,6001; Thence, South 190 East a distance of 3, 3751; Thence, North 710 East a distance of 1,800' along the Southern boundary lane of the John Powell Survey; Thence, in a generally Easterly course, as follows North 69°16'40" East a distance of 1586.45'; Thence, North 80° 30103" East a distance of 46.671; Thence, North 69027124" East a distance of 342.281; Thence, North 69°14'36" West a distance of 1,033.08'; Thence, North 68043135" East a distance of 741.52' to its intersection with the Western boundary of the Georgetown Railroad R.O.W.= Thence, North 6041124" East a distance of 580.3' at all times following along the Western boundary of the Georgetown Railroad R.O.W.; Thence, crossing the said Georgetown Railroad R.O.W. North 87°33'53" East a distance of 50' to the Eastern boundary of the said Georgetown Railroad R.O.W.; Thence, North 87°33'53" East a distance of 722.98'; Thence, North 86°43'03" East a distance 243.57' to its intersection with the West Right -of -Way line of IH 35; Thence, continuing along said R.O.W., South 34°40123" West a distance of 57.53'; Thence, in a Southerly and Southwesterly direction, crossing the South line of the John Powell Survey and the North line of the E. Evans Survey, Abstract A-212, following the West R.O.W. line of IH 35 a distance of 511.6' to a point where the center line of the Rabbit Hill Overpass intersects the IH 35 West R.O.W. boundary; Thence, North 71° East a distance of 1,100' along the extension of the center lane of Rabbit Hill Road to its intersection with the East R.O.W. of IH 35; Thence, 1000' in a Southwesterly direction along the East Right -of -Way of said Interstate Highway 35; Thence, South 7 1/20 East a distance of 8971; 2 2 Thence, North 710 East a distance of 221'; Thence, South 190 East a distance of 3201; Thence, North 710 East a distance of 1754' to the Southeast corner of the C.L. Haskell 120 acre tract to the Southeast corner of the said Haskel tract; Thence, North 19° West 225' along the East boundary of said Haskell tract to its intersection with the Southern boundary of the Ben Lawson 140.9 acre tract; Thence, approximately North 840 East a distance of 2,200' to Lawson's southeast corner in the West line of the Hays and Gee Johnson tract; Thence, North 19° West a distance of 1450' with the Johnsons' west property line to the Northwest corner of said tract; Thence, approximately North 780 East a distance of 2500' with the North boundary line of said tract to its intersection with the West boundary of the John H. Nash Jr. 95.73 acre tract; Thence, North 71° East a distance of 2500' along the South line of the Nash property to its Southeast corner which is the Western R.O.W. boundary line of F.M. 1460; Thence, North 71° East crossing from the West to the East R.O.W. line of F.M. 1460, which is also the Western boundary of Joseph Mott Survey, Abstract A-427; Thence, North 190 West 100' to the Northwest corner of the John E. Meredith tract of 119.61 acres in the said Mott Survey; Thence, North 710 East 3600' to Meredith's Northeast corner, where it meets the Western boundary of the Missouri -Kansas -Texas Railroad R.O.W.; Thence, Southeasterly 1500' along the West boundary line of the Missouri -Kansas -Texas Railroad to Meredith's Southeast corner; Thence, North 710 East crossing the Missouri -Kansas -Texas Railroad R.O.W., and continuing along a line parallel to and equidistant from the northern boundary of the Joseph Mott Survey to the East boundary of said Mott Survey a distance of 8,1501; 3 Thence, South 190 East a distance of 3400' along the East boundary of the Joseph Mott Survey, crossing its Southern limit to a point on the Western boundary of the Henry Milliard Survey, Abstract A-452, which is also the Southwest corner of a 200 acre tract belonging to 011ie Sauls in said Milliard Survey; Thence, North 710 East a distance of 1800' with the South line of the said Sauls tract to a corner of the same; Thence, North 190 West 700' to another corner of the said Sauls tract; Thence, North 710 East 3000' to the West line of the Tom E. Payne tract of 110.51 acres in the said Milliard Survey; Thence, South 190 East 1200' to the Southwest corner of the said Payne tract; Thence, North 710 East 1800' to the Southeast corner of the said Payne tract on the West line of the George Keith Survey, Abstract A-370; Thence, North 19° West a distance of 2,750' to the Northwest corner of the said Keith Survey; Thence, North 710 East a distance of 7,250' to the Northeast corner of the said Keith Survey on the West line of the John F. Furguson Survey,Abstract A-231; Thence, North 190 West 8,800' along the West boundary of the said Furquson Survey to the point where the Eastern boundaries of the Woodruff Stubblefield,Abstract A-556, and the John McQueen Survey,Abstract A-426 meet; Thence, North 710 East a distance of 11,250' along a line parallel to and equidistant from the North boundary line of said Furguson Survey to its intersection with the East coundary line of said Furguson Survey, which is also the Northwest corner of the James D. Warnock Survey, Abstract A-12; Thence, North 710 East a distance of 1,750' along the northern boundary of said Warnock Survey to its intersection with the centerline of the San Gabriel River; Thence, following the centerline of the San Gabriel River in its Easterly meanderings until it intersects the East boundary of the Absolom Jett Survey,Abstract A-343. All property owners names and their respective property lines referenced above were taken from the 1964 Tobin Surveys Inc. map for Williamson County, State of Texas. These distances do not reflect a true and accurate survey and may contain a margin of error; and WHEREAS, each City agrees that this line of demarcation may be amended by joint resolution; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Round Rock, Texas and the City of Georgetown, Texas agree that the above described line of demarcation shall describe a boundary across which neither City shall expand their respective extra -territorial jurisdiction without prior joint agreement by both parties. .•-rated this r h «1 h~ City Secretary day of 1985 .
