Auditor I. J. McCook, Jr., presented his auditor's report for year
Sept. 1, 1962 throuf_h Ausust 31, 1913. Mr. McCook explained in detail
each phase of the report to the City Council
Manager Plack presented his Budget to the Council for the Fiscal year
1963 and 1964.

Gentlemens
I am presenting to you a report for year 1962-63 ending August
31st, 1963-
41e have listed by departments some of the accomplishments that
were obtained during the year.
Electric Departments Total of 71 new poles were set. 23 new trans-
formers were installed to care for new load on our line. W demand has
increased from 3144 K4 to 3760 KV an increase of 624 WK for the year.
7...Ater Departments LPid a total of 6,549 feet of all types of water
lines. Repaired 69 main line leaks made 75 new water taps. Repaired
121 BO meters, flusTied all fire hydrants tie during year. General
maintenance *vas done on whole system all during year and the system is
in good operating condition.
iewgr Departments Laid 3310' new sewer lines, built 10 new man -holes,
Cleared 62 main line chokes. tivorked on general maintenance all year.
Garbage & Sanitations Garbage truck travelled 8,895 miles hauled
669 loads, totaling 5,7y2,000 pounds. Trash at dump grounds was burned
daily. Dusted whole City one time and business section 5 times. Dump
rounds 14 times. Levelled and rolled dump grounds twice during year.
estroyed 253 dogs.
Pump Stations Total of 361,171,510 gallons water pumped this year.
New gasoliae-engine installed on Well #2, for stand by power. All the
filter beds were changed in the treating plant also new creator in-
stalled on top of clear well.
Park Departments can Gabriels Repaired show sheds, painted posts, built
bleachers at Babe Ruth Ball Field. Repaired rock wall at the springs.
Planted 24 trees. Moved back stops and planted grass for new hard ball
field. Painted and repaired all bendhes and playground equipment.
Carver Parks Painted building and equipment, built bleachers for ball
field, installed 12 more lights on the bell field.
City Parks Built new back stops. 3 new See -Saws installed. Planted
8 new trees.
P.irports Built new hanger, Concreted floor in hanger for Champion
Air Craft Sales. Installed 1500 gallon water storage tank and small pres-
sure pump for water service. Painted Administration PuildinC. Fad 2439
planes visited the port this year.
Street Departments Old .paving 'patdhed and- m'airithiried. F.egravelled 24 blacks
g*ttirig;ready for paving programs- Total, of 33 blooks, paved this year.
FEMited" all parking lanes- an& loading zones twice. --Repair6d 4. old culverts
and"installed•3 M w culverts. Hauled 2385 loads of gravel, 1387 loads brush,
305 garbage and trgsh and 715 loads of dirt and rocks.
Fire'Degartmannts This ;department answered 102 alarms, 48 inside City .and
54 in -rural 'area. Average. of 27 men out of 35 rerpoeted for their monthly
drills and the department hes held losses to a minimum and we will again
9bjoy.a maximum credit again_ -this 'yLear.

Police Department: Total of 13 burglaries cases, 10 were cleared, 3
cases pending. 63 car thefts reported and all were recorded and eases
filed. 6.aggravated assault oases filed and cleared. % misdemeanors
and thefts cases worked and all cleared but one. both Patrol oars on
duty and night patrol has proven very sucoessfull.
Project to be completed in the ensuing year.
11 Complete new lighted hard ball field in San Gabriel Park.
2. Utility services for 0+est .fide School and new shcool in Northtown.
3 Move dump ground to new location and complete plans for m6ving
sewer farm to new location.
4. Revamp substation, install another circuit and oil switch to be
able to take care of additional load coming years.
Continue our paving program with a goal of 10 to 15 new blocks per
year.
6 Add new water and sewer mains and continue to improve both systems
as revenues will permit.
7 Plan some way to build new City Hall and Fire Station.
I want to take this opportunity to express to you and the department
heads and each employee for their effort and full cooperation and
help all during the year. Without this the progress and improve—
meats coule not have been done.
It has been you who have set the policies which would be in the
public interest which has enabled the City Administration to bring
about these accomplishments of the past year. It has been a pleasure
to work for you and with you for the betterment of Georgetown.
