TAX ORDINANCE FOR YEAR 1941,
AM ORDINANCE OF TEE41 CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETO:4N
TEXAS, LEVYING ADVALORUM TAXES FOR THE YEAR 19419 AT T$B
RATE OF ONE DOLLAR AND TEN CENTS ON FACH ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS
IN VALUATION ON ALL PROPEMTY SUBJECT TO T"ATION WITHIN THE
SAID CITY ON THE FIRST DAY OF TANU&BY 1941; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE Ste;. DRLARING P&ERGANCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY 'ZM CITY COUNCIL OF THE C ITV OF GEORGE-
TOWN TEXAS:
That far the year 1941, there shall be levied and eol-
lected an advalorum tax, of ohe dollar and ten cents on each
one hundred dollars, in valuation, on all property, subject
to taxation by the said City,under the laws of tlr: State of
Texas, on the first day of January A. D. 1941; and that the
said taxes so ordered levied and collected are appropreated
and ordered expended as follows:
(a) To pay the current expenses of the government of the
said City as the same shall accrue, a general fund of sixty-
five (65 cts) cents on each one hundred dollars in valuation.
(b) To pay the principal and interest as the same becomes
due, on all of the remaining unpaid bonds of the said City,
Known as "STREET BONDS", twenty (20 cts) cents on each one
hundred dollars in property valuation.
(c) To pay the principal and interest as same becomes due,
on all cf the remaining unpaid binds of the said City known
as "PAYING BONDS"; eighteen (18 cts) on each one hundred dollars
in property valuation.
(d) To pay the principal and interest as the same accrues
on all of t)Fe unpaid warrants of the said City, known as W
"REFUNDING WARRANTS", issued under authority of an ordinance
of said City passed and approved Aug, 15th, 1938; the sum of
seven (7 cts) cents on each one hundred dollars of property
valuation.
The fact that it is necessary to make prompt and efficient
provisions for the raising of money by taxation for the purpo-
ses above set out creates an emergency; an4 it is therefore
ordained that the ruleg requiring the reading of ordinances
at thASw separate meetings before passage, be and the same
are hereby suspended, and that this ordinance be at once
Ozkssed, and that take effect immediaLky from and after its
passage. \\
