The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,m met in regular
session on the above date, Mayor M. F. Smith presiding, the following
aldermen and officers being present: Aldermen F. E. Buchholz, J. R.
Chastain, J. C. Godbey, C. C.Hamilton and S. F. �4Vilcox. Officers,
off. H. Nunn, city attorney; C. A. Sanders, assessor and collector;
Albert May, marshal; Y. L. Cates, Secretary; and R. F. "'ard, manager
of city utilities.
On motion of Alderman Buchholz the minutes of the Month of February
were approved as read.
On motion of S. E. :7ilcox all accounts were ordered paid.
On motion of Alderman S. F. Wilcox officers reports of C. S. Sanders,
assessor and collector and Albert relay, marshalz were approved as
read.
Pursuant tom the recent visit of an officer from the State Health
Department, City Health Officer Dr. Walter S. Martin exrl/ained to
the Council the instructions as was made available regarding the
sanitary regulations as is expected ender the existing defense program.
and a motion was made by Alderman Chastain that the mayor name a c-Tnitee
a committee to confer with the city health officer to devise maass
for the disposal of refuse, dead fowls, etc., arch as will conform
to the requirements of the State Health Board. Alderman C. C. Hamilton
and Manager R. E. 'lard were named by the mayor, and wthe motion carried.
Alderman Chastain stated that the Junior Chamber of Commerce were
considering the purchase of a portion of the Gity Cotton Warehouse.
A committee composed of Aldermen 3uchholz, Hamilton amd Chastain
were named by the Mayor to investigate the proposals further with
the said Chamber of Commerce, and to act in accordance with their
judgment. Themajbove statment was included in the motion of approval
by Alderman Godbey, which was duly seconded by Aldf-rman Wilcox and
passed unanimously.
The riayor Appointed an auditing committee composed of Messrs.
Lee M. Taylor, Henry Chritezberg and Claud Eads. Alderman Godbey
moved that the appointments be confirmed, which motion carried,
having duly received a second by Alderman Chastain.
Manager of city utilities read his annual re -ort to the council, and
on motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey, seconded by Alderman S. E. '"ilcox,
the report was received and filed.
The appearing no further business the Council Adjourned.
