WHEREAS: The City Council having fully inquired into all matters pertaining to the said petition, and having fully considered the said petition and all matters pertaining thereto, finds that there is no longer a necessity for rent cohtrol within the said City, and that the said petition for the abolishing of rent control, should be in all things be granted: THEREFORE: Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: That the foregoing petition, for the abolish- ment of Rent Control within the City of Georgetown, Texas, is here and now in all things granted; and that under, and to the extent of the powers conferred upon this City, the City ex- presses and declares its desire that the operation of the Federal Law, authorizing Rent Control, so far,As the same applies to property within the corporate limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be and the same, is discontinued and such Rent Control as to property within the said City of Georgetown, Texas, is hereby abolished. Be it further resolved: That this resolution be presented to the Governor of Texas for his approval, with the request to the Governor of Texas that he take all necessary steps to have Rent Control discontinued and abolished in the City of Georgetown, Texas.
