HomeMy WebLinkAbout0061_60AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A FRA14CHISE ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, ON DECEMBER 9. 1952, SO AS TO CHANGE THE DATE OF THE PA)P4ENT OF THE STREET RENTAL FEE OR CHARGE PROVIDED BY SECTION 9 OF SAID FRANCHISE ORDINANCE FROM JANUARY 1, 1953, to MARCH 1, 1953, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN: SECTION 1. That Section 9 of a franchise ordinance enacted by the City of Georgetown on December 9, 1952, is hereby amended and changed so as to change the date of the payment of the streets rental fee or charge provided by Section 9 from January 1, 1953, to March 1, 1953• SECTION 2. Except as herein changed and amended, the aforesaid franchise ordinance, as enacted on December 9, 1952, shall be in full force and effect. That the fact that reports could not be prepared on the earlier date creates an emergency that the rules be suspended and this ordinance be read and passed and it is so ordered. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, FIXING THE SALARY OF EACH ALDERMAN THAT IS TO BE ELECTED AT THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION IN AND FOR THE SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: That each alderman, to be elected at said general election, shall receive a salary of ten ($10.00) Dollars per month, paid monthly, during the term for which he is elected. That the fact that it is necessary to fix the salaries of the said officers prior to the date of the said election creates an emergency making it necessary that the rules requiring that an ordinance be read at three separate meetings prior to its passage, be suspended, and that the said rules are hereby suspended, and this ordinance is at once passed, and that it take effect from and after its passage.
