LEVYING ADVALOREM TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1954, AND
DIRECTING THE COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF
SAID TAXES, AM, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
That for the year, 1954, there shall be levied and collected
an advalorem tax of one & 25/500 .( $1.25 ) dollars, on all property subject
to taxation by said City, under the constitution and laws of the State of
Texas, as per the 1st day of January, 1954, and at a tax rate of one & 2 5100
( $1.25 ) dollars on each one hundred ( $100.00 ) dollars in valuation.
That when the said taxes, are collected, the same shall be
applied and paid out as follows:
1. To the General Fund, for the support and maintenance of the
government of the said City 90 cents, of each one & 25/100 dollars, collected.
2. To the Bond Fund, of that series of the said City known as Paving
Bonds, 7 cents, of each one & 25/'100 dollars, collected.
3. To the Bond Fund, of that series of bonds of the said City, known
as Street Bonds, 20 cents, of each one & 25/5.00 dollars, collected.
4. To the Bond Fund, of that series of bonds of the sRid City known
as Airport Bonds, 8 cents of each one & 25/100 dollars, collected.
The fact that prompt preparation must be made for the assessing
and collection of taxes for the yeRr 1954, creates an emergency requiring
the rules providing that an ordinance shall be read at three separate meetings
before final passage shall be suspended, and such rules are here and now
suspended and this ordinance passed, and it is ordered that it take effect
from and after its passage.
