HomeMy WebLinkAbout0074_7272 the City of Georsetown Texas, and was by him presented to the City Council of said City for its consideration, and t 91EREAS, the City Council of the said City, having examined the said petition, together with the accompanying affidavits, finds that the territory covered by the said petition and that is sought to be annexed thereunder, all is - located adjacent to and to the North of the present corporate limits of said City, and that it is all within ane -half mile of the said corporate limits of the said City; and further finds that all matters pertaining to the saidpetition for an- nexation, are true and that more than a majority of the persons, who are under the law qualified to vote for the annexation of said territory, described in and covered by said petition, did in the manner above set outvote for the said annexa- tion, and further finds that it is to the best interests of the persons residing in the territory sou, -ht to be annexed, and the best interests of this City that the territory so sought to be annexed, and that is herein after fully described, should be incorporated into and become a part of this City, and that the persons residing in said territory, be made citizens of this City, as prayed for by them: TITEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY CITY COUINCTL OF TITS CITY OF GEORGETOWN TMCAS t That the afore mentioned petition, be and the same is in all things accepted, and that the said territory toCether with the persons residing therein are received into and made a part of the said City, with all of the rights, and liabilities, pertaining thereto. That the said territory covered by the said pe- tition for annexation, and that is hereby annexed to and made a part of the said City, is described as follows: REG11TNING, at a point in the North San Gabriel River, said point being a corner of the present City Limit line of the City of Georgetown, Texas, from which point an iron stake on the bluff river bank bears N 83 0- 24: E 50.43 feet; Thonce up the North San Gabriel River with the meanders of its centerline, as follows, to '.Vitt 0 N 0 - 55 ' E 86.72 feet to a point; N 7 0- 24 ' E 946.35 feet to a point; 1136 0- 27' Vi 335.69 feet to a point; N43 0- 07' W 111.5 feet to a point; N 35 0- 34 ' N 554.27 feet leaving the river to an iron set in the ground on the South boundary line of a road leading from Andice Road to the GeorC,etown Country Club, on the high bluff bank of the said River for a corner heroof; Thence with the said South boundary line of Country Club Road N65 0,r401 E 48]..30 feet to an iron stake set in the ground on the Last right of way line of said Andice Road, under fence, for a corner hereof; Thence in a straight line scces,.country N 89 0- 41' E 3993.32 feet to an iron stake found in the ground at the intersection of the South or East ri.Fht of way line TT. S. Highway 1Io. fel and the South right of way line of a countXy road, said stake being a present City -.limit corner of the City of Georgetown and also a corner of the City Park of the City of Georgetown, for a corner of this; Thence Southerly and Viesterly with the present City Limits of the City of Georpetorn to the point of beginning hereof, containin, appronimately 150 acres, more or less, as surveyed by the MAHVTIT TTTR NER En(;ineers, April, 1954. That the importance of prompt annexation of the said territory, creates an emero*ency, and a public necessity, requiring that the rules prescribing that an ordinance be re -ad at three separate meetings before passage, be suspended; and the said rules are hereby suspended, and that this ordinance is here and now finally passed, and it is ordered that it take effect from and after its passage and approval.
