WHEREAS, The Southwestern States Telephone Company has agreed (1) to purchase and install in its central office in Georgetown, Texas, certain equipment to assist the City of Georgetown in the operation of the fire alarm system owned and operated by the City of Georgetown in its fire station; and (2) to furnish a private line or circuit to be connected to the fire reporting system owned by the City and situate in its fire station; and WHEREAS, The Southwestern States Telephone Company has agreed to do these things in the event the City of GeorE-etown, Texas, will hold it hermlPss from all damages on account thereof: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that : The City of Geormetown enter into the agreement as submitted to this meetinm bir The Southwestern Stites Telephone Company under and by virtue of the terms of which the City of Geor-etown, Texas, will indemnify and save harmless The Southwestern States Telephone Company from and a-ai.nst all claims, costs, suits and judgments, for damages or injuries, growing out of or directly or indirectly based upon its furnishing of such equipment and circuit in connection with the City's fire alarm system, and that the liayor of the City of Georgetown be authorized, empowered and directed to execute such an agreement for and on behalf of the City of Georgetown, Texas# with the The Southwestern States Telephone Company. That the fact that it is necessary to provide certain equipment for fire reporting for the fire department, creates an emergency and makes it necessary that the rules requiring that ordinances be read at three separate meetings before final passa-e be suspended, and that the said rules are here suspended and ordered to take effect from its passage.
