HomeMy WebLinkAbout0088_8686 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, LEVYING ADVALOREM TAXES FOR THIS YEAR 1955, AND DIRECTING THE COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF SAID TAXES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: That for the year 1955, there shall be levied and collected an advalorem tax of one & 25100 ( $1.25 ) dollars, on all property subject to taxation by said City, under the constitution and laves of the ,tate of Texas, as per the 1sto day of January, 1955, and at a tax rate of one & 25AOO ($1.25) dollars on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars in valuation. That when the said taxes, are collected, the same shall be applied and paid out as followss L. To the General Fund, for the support and maintenance of the government of the said City $1.07, of each one & 25/1100 dollars collected. 2. To the Bond Fund, of that series of bonds of the said City, known as Street Bonds, 10 cents, of each one & 25/100 dollars, collected. 3. To the Bond Fund, of that series of bonds of the said City known as Airport Bonds, 8 cents of each one & 25100 dollars, collected. The fact that prompt preparation must be made for the assessing and collection of taxes for the year 1955, oreates an emergency requiring the rules providing that an ordinace shall be read at three -separate meetings before final passage shall be suspended, and such rules are here and now suspended and this ordinance passed, and it is ordered that it take effect from and after its passage.
