HomeMy WebLinkAbout0114_112112 GEORGETOV011, TEXAS. tray 15, 1956• YvEEREAS, at a regular meeting of the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Georgetown, Texas, held at the City Fall of said City, on the 14th, day of May 1956, it was announced by Mayor , J. T. Atkin, that Mrs. Sudie Lee Robertson, had made an offer to the City of Georgetown, Texas, whereby she would sell and convey to the said City the north one-half of Lot No. 5, of Block No. 51, of said City, and being the property owned by her that adjoins the City Hall property on the north, for a consideration of $6,000.00, to be paid in 60 monthly install- ments, of the sum of $100.00 each, the first installment to be paid,ron the first day of June 1956, and that each remaining installment, to become due and payable in its order, on the first day of each month, following the due date of the last preceding installment; with the option on the part of the City, to pay all or any number of the said installments, at any time, prior to maturity , should it desire to do io. That each installment to bear interest from the maturity date thereof at the rate of 6' per annum. That the said consideration, is to be secured by a vendor's lien, retained against the prperty sold, till the entire indebtedness is fully paid; and to be evidenced by a vendor's'lien note, in the usual form, executed by the City. That a motion was thereupon made by Alderman J. H. Compton , and seconded by Aldermtn Ralph Freund, that the City accept the said offer on the said terms and that the proper vendor's lien note be executed by the City , and that the Mayor be directed to deliver the said note to the seller when she shall have executed and delivered to the City a proper deed to the said property, and that there be and is hereby appropiated and set apart out of the -eneral revenues of the said City an amount sufficient to pay off and dischg.rge the said obligation, at any time that the City May decide to pay sane. That the said Sudie Lee Robertson, did by her deed of date May 15th, 1956, in all things comply with her said offer, and did convey to the said City the above described land, reserving in the said deed the vendor's lien above mentioned, THEREFORE3 THE CITY OF GEORGETOIWN TEXAS, hereby promises to pay to the said Sudie Lee Robertson, or order, the principal sum of SIZE THOI?SAND DOLLARS ($6,000.00 ) in sixty equal monthly installments of the sum of $100.00 each, the first installment to be due and payable on the first day of June A. D. 1956, and each succeeding installment, in its order,to be due and payable, on the first day of the month next following the maturity date of the next preceding installment; and that the failure to pay any installment on or before the due date thereof, shall at the option of the holder of this note mature all of the said note, That each installment of said note, shall bear interest, from and after the maturity date thereof, at the rate of 6"a perannum. That the City may, at its option, pay all, or any number, of the said installments., at any time prior to the due::date of same. That if default be made in the payment of this note, and it be placed in the hands of an attorney for collection, an additional amount shall be added to the amount then due , as collection fees. That this note, is given in payment of the north 1/2 of Lot No. 5 of Block No. 51, of the City of Georgetown, Texas, purchased by said City from Sudie Lee Robertson, by deed of even date herewith, and a vendor's Lien is re- tained in said deed to secure the payment of this note.
