FOR TRAFFIC, AND RATE OF SPEED T MEIN, AUSTIN AVENUE
ANIS Tlo,ELFTH STREETS, AND DECLARING RATE OF SPEED ON
OTHER STREETSs DEFINING SPEEDING AND FIXING A PENALTY
THEREFOR: DECLARING VVMT MAY BE A SUFFICIENT COMPLAINT
IN PROSECUTIONS HEREUNDERs WITH A SAVING CLAi1SE AND A
CLAUSE REPEALING CONFLICTING LATIS AND DECLARING AN
MMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAIN7D BY TFE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN:
QECTION I.
That Austin Avenue and Twelfth Street, of this City are hereby zoned
for traffic upon said streets, and the maximum rate of speed for each zone is
fixeds Austin Avenue being zoned for traffic going northward thereon, and also
for traffic going southward thereon, and Twelfth Street for traffic going east-
ward trereon and also for traffic going westward thereon.
That Austin Avenue is zoned for northbound traffic as follows: That
Northward, Zond Number 1, begins at the South City Limits and follows said
Avenue in a northerly direction to a point two tenths ( 2%10) of a mile north
from said City limits, and the maximum rate of speed for said zone is 45 Miles
per hour. That Northward, Zone Number 2, begins at the north end of the said
Zone Number 1, and extends northward along the said Avenue to a point that is
four tenths (410) north from said South Gity Limits, and that the maxium rate
of speed for said Zone Number 2, is 40 miles per hour. That Northward, Zone
Number 3, begins at the north end of said Zone Number 2, and extends northward
along said Avenue, to a point that is one and five one hundredths (1.05) of a
mile north from said South City Limits, and that the maximum rate of speed
on this Zone Number 3, is 30 miles per hour. That Northward, Zone Number 4,
begins at the north end of said Zone Number 3, and extends northward along
said Avenue to r'ighway Station 632.f�08 and that the maximum rate of speed on -
this Zone is 45 miles per hour. That Northward , Zone Number 5, begins at
the north end of Zone Number 4 (Highway Station 632}08) and extends north-
ward along said Avenue to the north city limits and that the maximum rate of
speed on this Zone is 60 miles per hour.
That for southbound traffic thereon, Austin Avenue is zoned as
follows$ Southward, Zone Number 1, begins at the North City Limits -and ex-
tends southward along said Avenue to Highway Station 632408 and that the maximum
rate of speed on this gone is 60 miles per hour. That southward, Zone
Number 2, begins at the south end of Zone Number 1 ( Highway Station 632}08)
and extends southward along said Avenue for a distance of sixty-five hundredths
(65100) of a mile and that the maximuem rate of speed on this Zone is 45
miles per hour. That Southward , Zone Number 3,begins at the south end of
Zone Number 2 and extends southward along said Avenue to a point that is
four tenths (410) of a mile north of the South City Limits and that the max-
imum rate of speed on this Zone is 30 miles per hour. That Southward, Zone
Number 4, begins at the south end of Zone Number 3 and extends southward along
said Avenue to a point that is two tenths (2/10) of a mile north of the South
City Limits and that the maximum rate of speed on this Zone is 40 miles per
hour. That Southward, `Lone Number 5, begins at the south end of Zone Number
4 and.extends southward along said Avenue to the South City Limits and that
the maximum rate of speed on this Zone is 45 Miles per hour.
That Twelfth Street is hereby zoned for eastbound traffic thereon,
and maximum speed for each zone fixed as followss Eastward, Zone Number 1,
begins with the Vest City Limits and extends eastward along said street to a
point that is two tenths (2/10) of a mile east from said Y'est City Limits,
and that the maximum rate of speed on this Zone, Number 1, is 35 miles per
hour. That eastward, Zone Number 2, begins at the east end of the said Zone
Number 1, and extends eastward along the said street to a point that is two
tenths (210) of a mile west from the East City Limits, and that the maximum
rate of speed on this tone is 30 miles per hour.
