HomeMy WebLinkAbout0151_149149 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AMMENDING THAT CERTAIN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE INSPECTION OF THE` INSPECTION. $$ ANIMALS SLAUGHTERED FOR MEAT, THAT WAS PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 13th, DAY OF JANUARY A. D. 1947; BY CONFIRMING THE SAID ORDINANCE, AND ADDING THERE- TO, PROVISIONS, FIXING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF INSPECTORS, THE FEES TO BE PAID FOR INSPECTING, WHO SHALL COLLECT AND PAY THE SAID FEES, FIRING THE PENALTY FOR THE VIO- LATION"OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMER- GENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS. Section, 1. That any "VETERINARIAN", educated, qualified licensed in can- pliance with the laws of the State of Texas, who is practicing the profession of Veterinary Surgeon, shall be and is person qualified to make the inspections that are contemplated under the provisions of the ordinance that is here being ammended; and it shall not be lawful for any person, other that one so qualified to make such inspection. This is all to be construed with the ordinance that is being amended hereby, mentioned in the oaption. Section, 2. That when an inspection has been made by a duly qualified inspector, authorized to make same, City of Georgetown shall be entitled to receive and ool- leet for his services, fees as followes For each head of cattle, regardless of class or weight, fifty cents (.50ots.) s for each hog, regardless of class or weight, thin f viefioents (.3 5 ots.) = and for each sheep or goat, regardless of class or weight, thirtz five cents (.35 cts.) Section, 3. That the owner, operator, or person in charge of the slaughter house, and or storage plant, at which such animals are slaughtered, and or the place where meat of, or from, such animals is stored, placed, or held, by or for the owner thereof; shall be the person who is due , bound and liable to pay to the City of Georgetown, the inspection fees, above set out ; and it is here made the duty of such owner, operator, or person in charge of such slaughter house, or storage plant, to collect,and pay over to the City of Georgetown, as soon as earned, the fees above mentioned* Section, 4. That the violation of any provision of this ordinance shall con- stitute a misdemeanor, and the punishment, in a conviction therefor, shall be by fine of not less than ten 010.00 ) nor more than one hundred ($100.00) dollars. Section, 5• That the fact that the ordinance amended hereby, does not clearly contain the provisions hereof, makes it necessary that the rules requiring that ordiance be read at three separate meetings before final passage, be suspended,and they are hereby suspended, and this ordinance is here and now, passed, and is ordered that it take effect from and after the passage of same.
