BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUIJCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGEM'dT TEXAS s SECTION 1. The office of Electrical Inspector in and for the Cite of Georgetown is hereby created, which office shall be filled by appointment by the Payor . The person chosen to fill the office shall be of good moral character, shall Fe- pos-sessed of such executive ability, training and experience as is required for the per- formance of his duties of enforcing this ordinance or any other ordinances or amend- ments dealing with this subject; and he shall be well versed in the rules and require- ments of the National Electrical Code premul--ated by the National Board of Fire Under- writers. He shall receive such compensation and serve for such term as may be fixed by the governing body; and execute and deliver to the City a surety bond in the principal amount of $500.00 conditioned upon the diligent and hones performance of his duties required of him by this ordinance, or any other related ordinance or law. The Pond premium shall be paid by the City and the bond shall be satisfactory to the governing body. SECTION 2. Every person, firm or corporation ovrning or operating a line of wires over streets, alleys or buildings in this city, shall use only wires that are suit- able and strong; shall suitably and safely attach them to strong and sufficient sup - porta and insulate them at all points of attachments; shall remove all wires abandoned for use; shall suitably insulate every wire where it enters a buildin-, and, if such wire is other than a wire designed to carry an electric light or power current, shall attach to it at suitable and convenient points in the circuit calculated to prevent danker from fire and near the place entering the building, an appliance calculated to prevent at all times a current of electricity of such intensity or volume as to be capable of injuring electrical instruments or causing; fire from entering the building by means of such wire beyond the point at which such appliq.nce is attached. SECTION 3. No person, firm or corporation shall engage in the business of instal- ling electric wiring and apparatus on or within any building or on any premises in the City of _Georgetown, Texas for use in connection with .electric light, heating or power without first appearing in person or by proper agent at the office of the City Secre- tary and securing from him a " Luster EleetricianFs License." SECTION 4. No "L';aster/1lectrician's License" shall be issued except upon payment of a fee of Ten Dollars G10.00) to the City Secretary together with the filing of a bond of Five hundred Dollars ('500.00) conditioned upon compliance with the ordinances of the city regulating electric wiring and apparatus and the faithful performance of all contracts entered into for the installation of electric wiring and apparatus on or inside any building or any premises for use in connection with electric light, heat or power. SECTION 5. Said "Vaster Electrician's License" shall entitle the holder thereof to engage in the business of installing wiring and apparatus on or inside buildinF;s or on any premises for use in connection with electric livht, heat or power within the limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas for a period of one year from date of issue. SECTION 6. Any failure on the part of the holder of a "-easter Electrician's Lic- ense" to comply with the provisions of any ordinance of the City Regulating electric wiring and apparatus or to faithfully carry out the conditions of a contract for in- stalling electric wiring; and apparatus shall be deemed sufficient cause for the govern- ing body to revoke said "L aster Unctrician's License" -to, -,ether with all rights and privileges thereunder and the forfeiture of the bond filed pursuant to the requirements of Section 4 of this ordinance. The City Secretary is hereby authorized to refuse to issue a "Master Electricianf,s License" to any previous holder of one which has been revoked or to any person, firm or corporation with which said holder is associated. Any parties so refused shall have the right of appeal to the governin¢ body.
