RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF GEORGETOWN �•"
TEXAS ABANDONING A PORTION OF BENTON STREET �
BEWvEEN BLOCK 14 AND 15 AND BLACK 9 AND 10,
AND THAT PORTION OF 20th STREET BETIVEM BLACK
9 AID 14 AND BLACK 10 AND 15 ALL IN SPARKS
ADDITION TO Th11 CITY OF GEORGEI01N, TEXAS.
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
that said City shall from the passage of this Ordinance abandon the fol-
lowing public streets in the City of Georgetown, Texas and the Streets
so abandoned are described as followss
BEGINNING at the Sd corner of Block No. 15, Sparks Addition to the
City of Georgetown, Texas, according to the map or plat of said Sparks
Addition on Record in the office of the County Clerk of Williamson County,
Texass:
THENCE North with the West line of said Block 15 to the NW corner of said
Block No. 15;
THE14CE East with the North Line of said Block 15 to the NE corner of said
Block No. 15s
THENCE North to the SE corner of Block No. 10, Sparks Addition to the City
of Georgetown, Texas;
THENCE West with the South line of said Block No. 10 to the SK corner of
said Block No. 10;
THENCE North with the West line of Block No. 10 to the NW corner of said
Block No. 10;
THENCE in a westerly direction to the NE corner of Block No. 9, Sparks
Addition to the City of Georgetown;
THENCE in a Southerly direction with the east line of said Block No. 9 to
the SE corner of said Block No. 9s
THENCE in a westerly direction with the South line of said Block No. 9, to
the .711 corner of said Block No.9;
TI:FNCE south to the NVI corner of Block No.14, Sparks Addition to the City
of Georgetown, Texas;
THENCE in an easterly direction with the North line of said Block No.14 to
the NE corner of said Block No. 14;
T INCE in a southerly direction with the east line of said Block No. 14 to
the SE corner of said Block No. 14;
THP:NCE ia.an easterly direction to the S71 corner of said Block No -15 and
the place of beginning.
The Layor of t}:e City of Georgetown is hereby authorized and directed
to execute a deed on behalf of the City conveying the above described property
to C. Be Gauntt, Trustee, who is now the record owner of the adjoining pro-
perty to said abandoned streets, when the said C. Be Gauntt, Trustee, shall de-
liver to the City his deed to a strip of land 30 feet wide and along the South
side of 19j Street which said strip of land when so deeded shall be used for
the purpose of widening 19-1 Street to a width of 60 feet.
1111HEREAS, there is an immediate need and necessity that this ordinance
be passed in order that the City may be relieved of the charge of maintaining
said streets as they are no longer used by or useful to the public and there
is a need to widen 19I Street in said City; it is hereby found and declared
by the Council that the prompt passage of this ordinance is urgent and
necessary for said purposes and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
