THERETO REGULATING THE IiANDLING OF VOLATILE OR
EXPLOSIVE LIQUIDS, THAT WAS PASSED AND APPROVED
ON THE 10 TH DAY OF FEBRUARY A. D. 1948, AND
AI:'lENDING SrCTION 5 AND 5A AS AIIiENDED ON APRIL
27TH 1950, AND ADDING TO SAID ORDINANCE, SECTION
5 AND 5A AS AP,IENDETP REGARDING UNDERGROUND TANKS
AND CAPACITY OF TRACKS HAULING GASOLINE IN SAID
CITY SO THAT SAID SUBSECTIONS MENTIONED ABOVE SHALL
APPLY TO "PRIVATE PLANT" ; AND INCREASING CAPACITY OF
STORAGE TANKS FROM 1,200 GALLONS TO 2,000 GALLONS AND
INCREASING THE TOTAL COYBINED CAPACITY OF ALL TANKS
AT ANY ONE RETAIL FILLING STATION FROM 4,000 GALLONS
TO 5,000 GALLONS AND COMBINED TOTAL GALLONS NOT TO
EXCEED 2,000 GALLONS AT ANY PRIVATE PLANT AND LIMITING
CARRYING CAPACITY OF TRUCKS HAULING GASOLINE TO PRI-
VATE PLANT WITHIN SAID CITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEWt
That Sections 5 and 5A of that certain ordinance of the said City
that regulates the handling of volatile or explosive liquids and that was
passed and approved on the 10th day of February A. D. 1948, and the 25th
day of April, 1950, shall hereafter read as followst
Section 5. Storage tanks and pumps regulateds Only underground
tanks shall be used for the storage of gasoline at filling stations, and
the said tanks and appliances shall be placed entirely within the property
lines of the premises. That no tank shall be installed at any retail fil-
ling station or private plant with a capacity greater than 2,000 ( Two
Thousand ) gallons; and only one tank shall be permitted for each pump in
service. That the total combined capacity of all

retail filling station shall not exceed'5,000`)(Five Thousand ) gallons and
combined capacity not to exceed 2,000 gallons at any private plant. All of
such tanks shall be labeled showing "Underwriter's Laboratories Approved
Tank". Gasoline shall be drawn from underground storage tanks only through
openings in the top thereof and only by means of pumps, bearing the approval
of the National Board of Underwriters. All such pumps and apparatus shall
be placed inside the property lines, and so placed than it will be impractical
to serve motor vehicles therefrom while such vehicles are standing on any part
of any sidewalk, street, or alley of said City. No pump shall be used other
than one that has been approved by the Underwtiters Laboratories, Inc., for
such use. x[11 such pumps shall be tested, examined, approved and sealed by
the City Plumbing Inspector of the City of Georgetown, Texas, before being
placed in service.
Section 5A. That no truck, hauling gasoline, that has a carrying
capacity of over 1,400 (Fourteen Hundred ) gallons shall hereafter be per-
mitted to deliver gasoline, therefrom to any filling station, private plant
or to any tank used by any filling station or private plant distributing
