HomeMy WebLinkAbout0225_223223 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS FIXING THE SALARY OF THE MAYOR AND THE SALARY OF EACH ALDERMAN THAT IT TO BE ELECTED AT THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION IN AND FOR THE SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN FMERGENCY. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texass That the Mayor of the said City, that is to be elected at the next general election, held in and for the said City, shall be paid a salary of Forty ($40.00) Dollars per month, paid monthly= during the term for which he is elected. That each alderman, to be elected at said general election, shall receive a salary of Ten($10.00) Dollars per month, paid monthly, during the term for which he is elected. That the fact that it is necessary to fix the salaries of the said officers prior to the date of the said election creates an emergency making it necessary that the rules requiring that an ordinance be read at three separate meetings prior to its passage, be suspended, and that the said rules are hereby suspended, and this ordingnoe is at once passed, and that it takes effect from and after its passage.
