HomeMy WebLinkAbout0237_235235 All costs taxed against the defendant, under the provisions hereof, together with the fine assessed, shall be collected by the Chief of Police and shall be by him paid into the Treasury of said City. SECTION 11. FEES PAID OFFICERS. No fees shall be paid to the Recorder, City Attorney or Chief of Police, or to any other peace officer. Compensation to be paid the Recorder, City Attorney or Chief of Police shall be made by separate ordinance. SECTION 12. CODE OF CRIMINAL PPOC''D''RE TO GOVEM The provisions of the rode of Criminal procedure now in force, and regulating the amount and collection of jury and witness fees and enforcement of the attendance of witnesses in t!:e criminal oases tried by the Justice of the Peace, shall as far as applicable, govern and be applicable to the trial of oases before the Corporation. Court herein created and established. SECTION 13. PM ER OF RECORDER, The Judge of said Corporation Court shall have the power to punish for contempt to the same extent and under the same circumstances as the County Judge may punish for contempt of the County Court. He shall have the power to take recognizances, admit to bail, and forfeit recognizances and bail bonds under such rules and regulations as now govern the taking and forfeiture of recognizances and bail bonds under such rules and regulations as now govern the taking and forfeiture of the same in the County Court. SrCTION 14. S RVICrS OF PROCESS. All process issued out of said Corporation Court shall be served by the Chief of Police of Georgetown, TexKs, or his deputy, or any person qualified and acting as policeman for the City of Georgetown, Texas, under the rules and regulations- as are now provided by law for the service by Sheriffs and Constables of process issuing out of the County Court so far as the same are applicable. SECTION 15. ALv@AYS OP -114- FOR BUSINESS. Said Corporation Court shall hold no terms, but shall be deemed at all times open for tranaction of business, but any defendant shall be entitled to at least one days notice of any complaint against him, if such time be demanded, SECTION 16. CWkWIVIENT. Any person convicted of an offence in this court shall be committed to tYe custody of the Chief of Police, who may deliver said person to the County Jail at Georgetown, Texas, to he held until said person shall have discharged the fine and costs against him.
