HomeMy WebLinkAbout0388_386386 :Zz :.a WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of lots within 200 feet of the above described property, as required by law; NOW THEREFORE, be tix it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown be amended so that the property described above shall be and the same is hereby removed form "R-1", One Family Dwelling District to "B-1", Local Retail District. The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal depart0 went, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take effect following its present reading and adoption. MCMASTER, CITY ATTORNEY RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is located in Williamson County, in the State of Texas and in the watershed of the San Garbiel River, and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is in great need of an assured source of water to meet its future municipal and industrial needs; and, WHEREAS, the City of ieorgetown is eager to contract for this assured water supply and is willing to join with other State and local intersts in assuming the cap is of constructing, maintaining and operating the spaces which are allocated to conservation of water within the three proposed dame, Laneport, North San Gabriel and South San Gabriel, provided that these cost are reasonable and comparable to costs of such stored water in other areas of the Brazos River watershed; and, WHEREAS, recent studies and reports have shown costs of water in the conserva- tion storage spaces now proposed in the three San Gabriel reserviors are consider- ably higher than costs of such stored water in other Brozos River watershed reser- voirs; and, WHEREAS, it is important that all three reservoirs be constructed as soon as practicable to alleviate the continue threat of floods which the watershed faces from the now uncontrolled wtter of the San liabriel River, NOWM THEREFORE, BE IT RRSOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, do hereby join with the Brazos Ri%er Authority in requesting4 that during the pre -construction planning stage of Laneport, South San Gabriel andd4KlEXIi North San Gabriel reservoirs, further consideration be given to reducing the costs of the conservation storage space in these reservoirs and thereby reducing the cost of water which may be obtained from the siad reservoirs, and that this resolution be forwarded to the District Engineer, Fort Worth Distirct, U.
