"Pursuant to the applicable provisions of the laws of the State of Texas, including, particularly, the Urban Renewal Law of the State, notice is hereby given that, a special election will be Held in said City on the 5th day of February, 1966, to determine whether the City Council of said City shall adopt a resolution substantially as follows: RI:SOLLrTION MAKING CIRTATN FINDINGS, DETERMINATIO`tiS, AND E1ECTIONS UNDER AND PidLSUANT TO THE URBAN RI•:1`EIVAL Lill; OF TPAAS 'HE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OI' Gi;OItGI?`TO','1'V, TPLAti, as follows: 'Section 1. It is hereby found and determined that one or more slum or bli,±hted areas exists in the City of Geor,o*etown, Texas 'Section " It is hereby- further found and deterriined that the rehabilitation, conservation, or slum clearance and redevelopment, or a combination thereof,, of such slum or blighted area or areas, is necessary in the interest of public health, safety, morals or welfare of the residents of said City. 'Section 3. It is hereby further determined that, the City of Georgetown, shall exercise the powers granted to tie City by the Urban Renewal Law of the State of Texas, except the Urban Renewal Project Powers as defined in saidT'rban Renewal Law. 'Section 4. It, is hereby further det:ernined to be neces,ary .and in the public interest. that the City of Ceorgetown elect$ and, accordingly, the City hereby elects to have said Urban Renewal Project Powers ex- ercised by the Urban Renewal Agency of tie City of Geor,retown, which agency is created by said Urban Ite- newal Law. The findings, determinations, and elections herein matte are tnade in accordance with and the various terms used herein are used in the same sense as used or defined in said Urban Renewal Law.
