Unlpss otherwise specified by law, the Commercial Standard for Wood Shingles,
CS 3--52 of the U:S. Department of Commerce, shall be accepted as means of estab-
lishing the grade of shingles.
(c) By adopting Appendix A and C of the National Building Code 155
Edition Abbriviated pertaining to the fire prevention code and publications listed
thereafter shall be used as a guide for standards, so far as same are not in
conflict with the requirements of the Fire Marshall of the State of TExas.
(d) By especially adopting the 1957 and 1958 amendments to the National
Building Code 155 Edition Abbreviated. In so far as said amendments are not in
conflict with requirements of the State Fire Marshall.
Section 13. PERMITS.
Wherever in this ordinance and code adopted, herein reference is made
to construction or building repair, removal, or move into; same shall not be done
until the requirements set out in the Permit Ordinance and the amendments
thereto, if any, have been complied with. The Building Official or Inspector
or any person or persons having the authority to issue permits shall not do so
until they are satisfied with the regiiiren+ents of the ordinance and same have
been met.
Section 14.
This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its approval.

OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE STANDARD OF Tf1E NATIONAL
BOARD OF FIRE UNDERWRITERS FOR ELECTRIC WIRING AND
APPARATUS FOR THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, FOR
CREATING THE OFFICE OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR, FOR
LICENSING OF ELECTRICIANS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSE -9,
AND REGUALTING THE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRIC WIRING AN
AND APPARATUS AND 0111 Fat PURPOSES.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas
Section 1. Adoptions of Electric Code. That there is hereby adopted
by the City of Georgetown, Texas, for the purpose of establishing rules and
regulations for the construction,'alteration, removal and maintenance of
electric wiring and apparatus, including permits and penalties, that certain
electric code known as the National Electric Code Standard of the National
Board of Fire Underwriters, being particularly the 1965 Edition thereof and the
whole thereof, save and except such portions as are hereby deleted, modified, or
amended, of which not less than three (3) copies have been and now are filed
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Georgetown, TExas, and the same
are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein,
and from the date on which this ordinance shall take effect, the provisions
thereof shall be controlling in the construction, alteration, maintenance or
removal of all electric wiring and apparatus within the corporate limits of the
