COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON
REQUEST FOR STREET CLOSING
We, Carl J. Doering et ux Dolores L. Doering, being abutting
property owners to 16th Street in Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas,
do hereby petition the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
and do hereby make application for and request that a portion of said
16th Street be closed, abandoned, and vacated, said portion being as
follows, to wit:
"Being all of 16th Street lying and being situated in Hart
Addition to City of Georgetown and being that portion of
said Street that lies East of the Railroad Right of way
and West of Hart Street."
Wherefore, the undersigned petitioners do hereby respectfully
request that City Council of the City pf Oeorgetown CLOSE, ABANDON,
AND VACATE ALL OF SAID PORTION OF 16th Street in said Hart Addition to
said City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING OF THAT
PORTION OF 16TH STREET LYING EAST OF RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAY AND
WEST OF HART STREET, HART ADDITION, CITY OF GEOR:GETOWN,PURSUANT
TO REQUEST OF ALL ABUTTING LANDOWNERS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS the City of Georgetown and Georgetown Oil Hill, Carl
J. Doering, Owner, are the owners of all iond,iabutting upon that
portion'of 16th Street in the City of Georgetown, Williamson County,
Texas, lying East of Railroad Right of'Way and West of Hart Street,
Block 1, Hart Addition, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to close such portion of
said Street and the said Carl J. Doering has filed with the Council
his written approval for such action, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interests of
the City and its citizens that said portion of said Street be closed
in order that the Housing Authority of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
may proceed with the development of the property,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Ordinance that all of that
portion of 16th Street lying East of Railroad Right of Way and West
of Hart Street, Hart Addition, City of Georgetown, Texas, be and the
same is hereby vacated, abandoned, and closed.
The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate
preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily op-
eration of a municipal department, it is declared to be an emergency
measure, which shall have and take effect following its present reading
and adoption.
READ, PASSED and adopted by unanimous vote this the 15th day
of August, 1966.
