COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AND THE
URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, WITH RESPECT TO
THE SOUTH SAN GABRIEL URBAN RENEWAL
PROJECT NO. TEX. R-102.
This agreement is made and entered into on this the 16th day of
January, A.D., 1967, by and between the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of
Georgetown, Texas, (hereinafter called and referred to as the "Agency"), and the
City of Georgetown, Texas, a Municipal Corporation (hereinafter called and
referred to as the "City"), WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the Agency is a public body corporate and politic, created by
the laws of the State of Texas pertaining thereto, specifically the Texas
Urban Renewal Law; and
WHEREAS,the Agency with the aid and cooperation of the City proposes
to undertake and carry out an urban renewal program in the City of Georgetown,
Texas, including but not limited to the co -called South San Gabriel Urban Renewal
Project TEX 11-102, (hereinafter called the "Project") in accordance with the
Urban Renewal Plan therefore, heretofore approved by the City Council bearing
the date of the 16th day of January, 1967, and pursuant to the provisions of the
laws of the State of Texas as hereinabove referred to; and
WHEREAS, the Agency proposes in carrying out the Urban Renewal Plan for
said Project to acquire certain properties and improvements thereon within the
Project area, as provided for in said Urban Renrwal Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Agency proposes to enter into a Loan and Grant Contract
with the Department of housing and Urban Development, an Agency of the United
States of America, providing for financial assistance pursuant to Title I of the
Housing Act of 1949, as amdnded, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions
of the Urban Renewal Plan, in the sum of:
(1) A Project Temporary Loan in the amount of $2,406,990.00
(2) A Project Capital Grant in the maximum amount available for the
Project.
(3) A Relocation Grant in an amount not to exceed the sum of $165,060.00,

WHEREAS, the City desires to provide "local grants'in-aid" in connection
with said Project and has heretofore indicated its intention to do so in a reso-
lution approving said Urban Renewal Plan for said Project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has agreed to advance the Agency the sum
of $16,631.00 cash for use in project expenditures as its proportionate share
of project expenditures not covered by non-cash grant-in-aid credits no later
than the Elibibility DAte for the First Project Capital Grant Rrogregg Payment.
WHEREAS, the City desires to use force account for demolition and site
clearance, and has heretofore indicated its intention to do so in a letter of
intent from the City Manager for the City of Georgetown for said demolition and
site clearance; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that Titke VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964 and the regulations and policies of the Department of Housing and Urban
Development effectuating the Title prohibit discrimination on the ground of
race, color, or national origin in the policies and practices of any public
