It shall institute through the Director, studies of any condition
which may effect the life, health, or the preservation and improvement
of health in Williamson County; it shall be concerned with the elimina-
tion of causes of disease or peril to life or health, and shall make
recormiendations to the director concerning these matters; it shall
make recommendations concerning* the operations of public institutions
in so .far as hen1 th matters are concerned; it shall en -age in an active
program of health education; it shall act as a coordinating; agency
in providing adequate medical and dental care; and shall maintain a close
working relation with the medical and associated professions, the
non -official health agencies, lay organization and individuals con-
cerned with the promotion of public health; it shall make recorimen-
dations to such director and each governmental units concerning the
needs and budget. of such Williamson County Fealth Department. A
report of the activities and the financial conditions of the '�Yilliam-
son County Health Department shall be made to any of the governmental
units at such time as the summary be requested by any such governmental
units.
SECTIO' NINE: This resolution shall be subject to amend -
merit and repeal at any time by any governmental agency represented on
this Board and any office created hereby and the term of any officer
holding same shall be subject to abolishment and termination at any
time by joint action of the City Commission of the City of Taylor, the
City Councils of the Cities of Georgetown, Round Rock, Granger, Bartlett,
Thrall, Florence and Hutto, and the Commissioner's Court of Williamson
County.
SECTION TEN: ,All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict with the new provisions enacted herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION ELLVE : The invalidity of any part of this ordinance
shall not affect the valid parts hereof.
SECTION TWELVE: There being an immediate need for the ap-
pointment of a Williamson County Board of health, and an emergency is
hereby declared to exist in connection with the handling of matters of
immediate importance affecting the general health of Williamson County
and the several cities therein and this resolution shall become effec-
tive from and after the date of its passage, and without the necessity
of three separate readings, and it is so ordered.
