A Resolution Authorizing Mayor of City of Georgetown, Texas To
Notify Honorable Jake Pickle and Other Persons of the Position
of Said City of Georgetown to Oppose Proposed Lesislation That
Is Designed to Eliminate the Tax Exemption On Interest Earned
On Municipial Bonds and Other Such Paper :

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN TO LWTIM INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT
WITH THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S POSSE
WHEREAS, the City Manager of Georgetown, Texms,Leo Wood, has
brought to the attention of the City Council of Georgetown that the
Williamson County Sheriff's Posse desires to enter into a lease agreement
with the City of Georgetown, for the leasing of certain property and
upon the terms and conditions as set forth in said agreement dated the
25th. day of August, 1069, a copy of which is attached hereto and made
a part of this resolution and which is identified as"Exhibit A"; and,
WHLUEAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown deems -it
advisable to enter into such lease agreement with the Williamson County
Sheriff's Posse:
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Manager of the City of
Georgetown, Texas is hereby authorized to enter into said lease agreement
with the Williamson County Sheriff's Posse upon the terms and conditions
as stated.

Whereas certain legislation has been proposed to our Federal
Congress which is designed to eliminate the present tax exempt statute
of interest on Municipial bonds and other Municipial paper+, and;
Whereas the City Council of the City of Georgetown has discused
the impact and effect of such legislatition in the event of it's
passage and deem such proposed legislatition to be contrery to the
best interest of Municipial Governments and against the best interest
of our people generally;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Georgetown does hereby by these present unequilally opose the proposed
legislation and do hereby concent to the Mayor of this City to notify

the Honorable Jake Pickle, Our Congressman, and all other persons. Said
Mayor may deem it necessary to so notify the position of said City

Council oposing such legislation;
