HomeMy WebLinkAbout0165_158158 A RESOLUTION OF TIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GOUiGETOWN, TEXAS APPROVING THE REVISED URBAN RENEWAL PLAN AND TTIE FEASIBILITY OF RELOCATION FOR PROJECT NO. TEX R-102. WHEREAS, under the provisionssof Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized to provide financial assistance to Local Public Agencies for undertaking and carrying out urban renewal projects;and WHEREAS, it is provided in such Act that contracts for financial aid thereunder shall require that the Revised Urban Renewal Plan for the respectiv e project area be approved by the governing body of the locality in which the project is situated and that such approval include findings by the governing body that: (1) the financial aid to be provided in the contract is syeeessary, to enable the roject to be undertaken in accordance with the Revised Urban Renewal Plan; (2) the Revised Urban Renewal Plan will afford maaamum opport- unity, consistent with the sound needs of the locality as a whole, for the rehabilitation or redevelopment of the urban renewal area by private enterprise; (3) the Revised Urban Renewal Plan conforms to a general plan for the development of the locality as a whole; and (4) the Revised Urban renewal Plan gives due consideration to the provision of adequate park and recreational areas and facilities, as may be desireable for neighborhood improvement, with special consideration for the health, safety, and welfare of children residing in the general vicinity of the site covered by the Plan; and WHEREAS, the Georgetown Urban Renewal Agency (herein called the "Local Public Agency") has entered into a planning contract for financial assistanee under such Act with the United States of America, acting by and through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, pursuant to which Federal funds were provided for the urban renewal project (herein called the "Project") indentified as "South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Project No. TEX R-102" and encompassing the area bounded by: BEGINNING at a point in the West R.O.W. line of the I & GN Rail Road which lies on the Centerline of State Highway 29; THENCE 2020+ feet Southerly along the West R.O.W. line of the I & GN Hail Road to the South Property line of West 19th Street ertecded; VIENCE 380± feet Westerly along the South property line of West 19th Street to East property line of the West Side School, Georgetown Independent School District; THENCE 620 feet Northerly and Easterly along the East property line of said Weat Side School, to a point in the South property line of West 17th. Street; THENCE 430+ feet Westerly along the South property line of Nest 17th Street to the East property line of O.L. 53 City of Georgetown; TI1ENCE 650+ feet Northerly to the Meanders of the South San Gabriel River; THENCE 19004- feet Northerly and Easterly, down stream along the meanders e# the South San Gabriel River to a point of intersection of the South property line of West Tenth Street ertecded; THENCE 200± feet Westerly to the West Bank of the South San Gabriel River: THFNCE 5400± feet Northerly and Easterly along the bank of the River to a point of intersection of the lot line between Forrest and Rock Street extended; THENCE 1200± feet Southerly along the lot line between Forrest and Hock Street to a point in the South property line of West 4th Street;
