HomeMy WebLinkAbout0178_171171 RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING 11:1SUW OF ELECTION TIIE STATE OF T0XAS CITY OF GEOILGETOWN On this the 10th day of December, 1969, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, canvened in special session at the regular designated meeting place in the City with the following member present: Jay C. Sloan, Mayor, A. F. Davis, Doyle Lyda,Hubert Brock,11arry Gold,William It. Eanes, and Claud Eads, and the following absest: None. A quorum being presen� and after the following order was read, Alderman Lanes moved its passage. The motion was seconded by Alderman Davis. The motion carrying with it the passage of this order, prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Alderman Davis, Lyda, Brock, Gold, Lanes: Noes: None. The order is as follows: WilutIAS, each and all of the members of the City Council of said City was duly and sufficiently notified, officially and personally, in advance, of the time, place and purpose of this meeting; and WHEREAS, proper notice has been duly and timely posted as provided by Cn law; and WHEREAS, there came on to be'considered the returns of two separate but (� simultaneous elections held in the City on December 10, 1969, for the purpose tJ of submitting various propositions to the voters of said City for their action V thereupon. WIILTLEAS, it appearing from the returns, duly and lawfully made, that there were cast at the election, where only the resident qualified electors who own taxable property in the City and who have duly rendered the same for tax- able property in the City and who have duly rendered the same for taxation voted, valid and legal votes as follows: PROPOSITION NO. 1 FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $225,000 REVENUE BONDS FOIL THE PURPOSE OF CONSTILUCTING EXTENSIONS AND IMPROV TENTS TO THE CITY'S ELECTRIC LIGHT SYSTEM 342 VOTES AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $225,000 REVENUE BONDS FOIL THE PURPOSE OF CONSTURCTING EXTENSIONS AND IMPROV111ENTS TO THE CITY'S ELECTRIC LIGHT SYSTIAI 71 VOTLS PROPOSITION NO. 2 FOIL THE ISSUANCE OF $350,000 REVENUE BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CON- STILUCTIONG EXTENSIONS AND IMPROV1AIENTS TO THE CITY'S WATI]LWORKS SYSTEM 348 VOTES AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $350,000 RLVE'NUE BONDS FOR THE, PURPOSE OF CONSTUILCTING EXTENSIONS AND I6IPROVI1%1ENTS TO THE CITY'S WATERWORKS SYSTI11 65 VOTE: PROPOSITION NO. $ FOIL THE ISSUANCE OF $100,000 REVLNUE BONDS FOR TINE PURPOSE OF CON- STRUCTING EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVE:MiNTS TO TIIE CITY'S SE'4UL SYSTEM 338 VOTES AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $100000 REVINUE BONDS FOIL TIIE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING EXTENSIONS AND IMPILOV121ENTS TO THE CITY'S SLIVER SYSTEM 98 VOTES . PROPOSITION NO. 4 FOIL TIIE ISSUANCE OF $15,000 BONDS FOR TIIE PURPOSE OF CONSTURCTING A PUBLIC BUILDING TO BE USED AS A CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER AND TIIE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT THILEOF 254 VOTES AGAINST THE; ISSUANCE OF $15,000 BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCT- ING A PUBLIC BUILDING TO BE USED AS A CHILD DE'VE:LOPMLWT CENTER AND THE LEVYING OF TIIE TAX IN PAYMENT THEILEOF 156 VOTES
