stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier then
lb days from the first day of such publication; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the
Zoning Ordinance; said approval being given by said commission on May 7, 1971; and
WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of the lots within
200 feet of the above described property as required by law;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown,
that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown, be amended
so that the property described above shall be and the same is hereby removed from
"RS", Single Family Residence District, to "C-1" Local Commerical District.
The enactment of this Ordinance being necessary to the immediate preservation
of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of a municipal de- l
partment, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take
effect following its present reading and adoption.
Read, passed and adopted by unanimous vote, this 10th day of May, 1971.

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING A DRIVER OF A VEHICLE IN GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, FROM OVERTAKING ANY SCHOOL BUS UNTIL SUCH VEHICLE
STOPS, LIMITING SPEED OF VEHICLE: PROVIDING FOR MARKING
OF SCHOOL BUSES.
Section 1. OVERTAKING AND PASSING SCHOOL BUS.
1.1 A Driver of a vehicle upon the streets within the City Limits of Georgetown,
Williamson County, Texas, upon meeting or overtaking from either direction any
school bus which has stopped on such street for the purpose of receiving or dis-
charging any,school children shall stop the vehicle immediately before passing the
school bus, but then may proceed pass the school bus at a speed which is prudent,
not exceeding 10 miles per hour, and with due caution for the safety of such
children.
1.2 Every shcool bus used for the transportation of school children shall
bear upon the front and rear thereon a plainly visible sign containing the words
" SCHOOL BUS" in letters not less than 8" in height. When a school bus is being
operated upon a city street of Georgetown, Texas, for purposes other than the actual
transportation of children, either to or from school, all markings thereon indicat-
ing "SCHOOL BUS" shall be covered or concealed.
1.3 Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall upon conviction therefor be subject to a fine of not less than One Dollars
($1.00) or more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).
The fact that the passage of this ordinance is of great public importance to
immediately put into force the aforesaid traffic control for the protection of the
lives, health, property and welfare of the citizens of the City of Georgetown
and thereby creates a public emergency and necessity andtherefore this Ordinance
shall take effect from and after this reading and its passage and adoption.
