: RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Texas State Library and Historical Commission has duly and properly
made a designation of the Georgetown Public Library as a community library as
authorized by House Bill 260,1969, 61st Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, UNDER the aforesaid statutory authority the governing body of said
Library, the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, may accept a design-
ation by resolution:
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Georgetown accepts the design-
ation by Texas State Library and Historical Commission of the Georgetown Public
Library as a community library and as authorized by the aforesaid law under the
Texas State Library Systems Act and as a member of the Austin, Travis County,
Texas, major resource center system; said Georgetown Public Library to serve
the City of Georgetown area with library services including but not limited to
the loan of books and other written and printed matter, providing meeting rooms,
summer reading programs for children, library services for pre-school children,
the disadvantaged and the aged, assisting in drug abuse education programs,
coordination with Southwestern University and Georgetown Independent School
District and other library services.
Read, passed and adopted by unanimous vote upon first reading, this 24th
day of January, 1972.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN TO EXECUTE THE LICENSE OF MISSOURI -
KANSAS -TEXAS RAILROAD COMPANY
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has applied for permission to erect an
aerial Power Line Crogsing of the Missouri -Kansas -Texas Railroad Company
tracts and right of way at Georgetown, Texas, opposite their Mile Post 922.47;
and,
WHEREAS, Missouri -Kansas -Texas Railroad Company has required the execution
of a license to erect.an Electric Power Transmission Line Across or Along
Railroad Company Property and certifying the City's acceptance of the terms
and conditions contained therein; and said agreement is attached hereto and made
a part hereof for all purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the public convenience will be served by such installation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE It resolved by the City Council of the City of George-
town, Texas, that the Mayor of the City of Georgetown is hereby authorized
to execute the license and Agreement between the Missour-Kansas-Texas Railroad
Company and the City of Georgetown for the erection of an electric power
transmission line across or along railroad company property and certifying the
City's acceptance of the terms and conditions contained therein.
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL AND APPROVED BY THE MAYOR this the 14th day of
February, A.D. 1972.
