lo AN ORDINANCE UPDATING FIRE PREVENTION CODE OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, BY ADOPTING
1970 EDITION "FIRE PREVENTION CODE" RECObSIENDED BY THE
AMEILICAN INSURANCE ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, heretofore on or about the 8th day of May, 1972, by ordinance the
City of Georgetown did adopt the Fire Prevention Code as reflected by the 1970
Edition of such Code; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown desires to update such Code by the adoption
of the 1970 Edition of same as recommended by the American Insurance Association.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the "Fire Prevention Code" 1970 Edition Abb-
reviated recommended by the American Insurance Association consisting of pages
numbered 1 through 80, a copy of which is attached to this ordinance and made a
part hereof as if copied herein in length, is hereby adopted by the City of George-
town as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Georgetown in lieu of the Fire
Prevention Code manifested by the 1970 edition as aforesaid.
READ, PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote this the 8th day'of May, 1972,
upon first reading, and read, passed and adopted on the 12th day of June, 1972, on
second reading_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS APPROVING THE REVISED URBAN RENLIVAL PLAN AND THE
FEASIBILITY OF RELOCATION FOIL PROJECT N0. TEX-R-102
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as
amended, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized to provide
financial assistance to Local Public Agencies for undertaking and carrying out
projects; and
WHEREAS, it is provided in such Act that contracts for financial aid there-
under shall require that the Revised Urban Renewal plan for the respective pro-
ject area be approved by the governing body of the locality in which the project
is situated and that such approval include findings by the governing body that:
(1) the financial aid to be provided in the contract is necessary to enable the
project to be undertaken in accordance with the Revised Urban Renewal plan; (2)
the Revised Urban Renewal Plan will afford maximum opportunity, consistent
with the sound need of the locality as a whole, for the rerehabilitation or re-
development of the urban renewal area by private enterprise; (3) the Revised
Urban Renewal plan conforms to a general plan for the development of the locality
as a'whole; and (4) the Revised Urban Renewal plan gives due consideration to
the provision of adequate park and recreational areas and facilities. As may be
desirable for neighborhood improvement, with special consideration for the health,
safety, and welfare of children residing in the general vicinity of the site
covered by the Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Georgetown Urban Renewal Agency (herein called the "Local
Public Agency") has entered into a planning contract for financial assistance
under such Act with the United States of America, acting by and through the
Secretary of housing and Urban Development, pursuant to which Federal funds were
provided for the urban renewal project (herein called the "Project") identified
as "South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Project No. TEX R-102" and encompassing the
area bounded by:
BEGINNING at a point in the West R.O.W. line of the I & GN Railroad which
lies on the centerline of State highway 29;
TITMICE 2020± feet Southerly along the West R.O.W. line of the I & GN Rail-
road to the South Property line of West 19th Street extended;
THENCE 380± feet Westerly along the South property line of West 19th Street
to the East property line of the West Side School, Georgetown Independent
School District;
