RESOLUTION SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY
THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING: AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1. On the 11th day of September, 1972 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. in the
City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Georgetown, Texas the City
Council will hold &.public hearing giving all interested persons the right to appear
and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Georgetown, Texas of the
property described on "Exhibit A" which is attached hereto and made &,.part
hereof for all purposes.
Section 2. The Mayor of the City of Georgetown is hereby authorized and
directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a news-
paper having general circulation in the City and in the above described territ-
ory not more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the date of such
public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160,
Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a, Vernon's
Texas Civil Statutes).

O Section 3. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an
(;3 imperative public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at
V threw consecutive meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and
the ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.

ANNEXING ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED'TERRITORY TO
THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTEND-
ING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND
GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF
SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER
CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE
ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by
each and every person or corporation having an interest in the property described
on the attached'"Exhibit A" and is made a part hereof for all purposes.
WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the City of George-
town, Texas, and is not more than one mile in width, and,
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the 11th day of
September, 1972; such date being not less than 5 and not more than 30 days from
the date hereof; and,
WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments for and against the
same the City Council has voted to grant such petition and to annex said territory
to the City of Georgetown, Texas:
