HomeMy WebLinkAbout0309_304304 ATTEST: City Secretary ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE "ZONING ORDINANCE" PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ON THE 16th DAY OF NOVEMBER 1972, AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP, AND MAKING THIS AMENDMENT A PART OF THE MAP OF THE ORIGINAL ORDINANCE; TO CHANGE PART OF LOTS NOS. 5, 6 and 7 IN BLOCK NO. 17 OF GLASS - COCK ADDITION TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS FROM R -S SINGLE FAMILY DISTRICT TO R -M-1 TWO FAMILY DWELLING OR DUPLEX DISTRICT, AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate; All that certain lot•or parcel of land, lying and being situated in the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and being a part of Lots b, 6 and 7, in Block 17, of Glasscock's Addition to the said City, and described as follows: BEGINNING at the S.W. corner of the said Block No. 17; THENCE N with the West line of the said Block, 126 feet; THENCE E 75 feet, to the N. E. corner of the strip of 9 feet purchased by S.A. Heard from W. H. Cowley and wife, by Deed recorded in Volume 117, Page 623, of the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas; THENCE S with the East line of the said strip, 126 feet, to the S line of the said Block; THENCE W with the S line of said Block, 75 feet to the place of beginning, and being the same land purchased by W. I. Stump from S. A. Heard and wife, by Deed dated March 21, 1910, and recorded in Volume 140, Page 2 of the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. AND WHEREAS, The City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation and report; and WHEREAS the City Planning and Zoning Commission before considering said application gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same one time in the Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the first day of such publication; and WHEREAS the owners of all lots located within 200 feet of the above described property were given written notices of said hearing as required by law. WHE2EAS, The City Planning and Zoning Commission has approved the changing of said zoning ordinance regarding the above described property from R -S Single Family District to R -M-1 Two Family Dwelling or Duplex Sidtrict which ■aid matter was considered by the City Planning and Zoning Commission on the 16th day of October, 1972; and NOW THEREFORE and be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map of the City of Georetown, be amended so that the property described above shall be and the same is hereby removed from R, -S Single Family District to R -M-1 Two Family Dwelling or -Duplex District.
