HomeMy WebLinkAbout0312_307307 AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY Z 2 OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS An amendment to the ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on February 12, 1968, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendment a part of the map of the orig- inal ordinance; to change the hereinafter described real estate in said City from "R -S", Residential Single District to "C -I", Commercial Local District, as hereinafter set forth. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing'the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate: Zoning Ordinance; and no protest was entered against the propsed change; and, WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of lots within 200 feet of the above described property, as required by law;. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of George- town that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown be amended so that the property above described shall be and the same is hereby removed from "R -S", Residential Single District, to "C -I", Commercial Local District. The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate preser- vation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal department, it is declared to be anemergency measure, which shall have and take effect following its present reading and adoption. Read, passed, and adopted by unanimous vote, this the 11th day of December, 1972. All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in Williamson County, Texas, and being out of and a part of the, Nicholas Porter 1/3 League Survey and being located in Block 6 of what is known as North Georgetown and being the East half of said Block -6, and being a strip of land 120 feet wide on the North and South ends and 240 feet wide on the West and East sides, and being the same land described in a deed from Lydia Barnett, et al to J. E. Lyons, Jr., et al recorded in Volume 556, Page 640 of the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. ' AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning 0 Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; LID and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said �V Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from "R -S", Residential Single District, To "C -I", Commercial Local District, which said meeting was held on November 21, 1972; and, WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same three times in the Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated.the timeand place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the first day of such publication; and, WHEREAS the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the Zoning Ordinance; and no protest was entered against the propsed change; and, WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of lots within 200 feet of the above described property, as required by law;.
