HomeMy WebLinkAbout0425_420420 ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE "ZONING ORDINANCE" PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS ON THE 12TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1968, AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP, AND MAKING THIS AMENDMENT A PART OF THE MAP OF THE ORIGINAL ORIDNANCE: TO CHANGE A PART OF OUTLOT 31, DIVISION "A" IN THE CITY OF GEORGE- TOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM C-1, LOCAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, TO C -2A, LOCAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate: All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in Williamson County, Texas, being out of and a part of the Clement Stubblefield Survey, and a part of Outlot 31, Division "A" of the City of Georgetown, in said County, and a part of the tract of 120 feet by 120 feet conveyed to Jas. Lyons, et ux, by Powell Rader, et al, by deed dated August 1, 1896, recorded in Vol. 253, Page 591, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, and a part of a tract conveyed to B. E. Baker by J. E. Lyons, et al, by deed dated September 29, 1930, recorded in Vol. 253, Page 596,, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, said tract being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING in the present South line of University Avenue (12th Street) where the same is intersected by the West line of Hart Street, being the N. E. corner hereof; THENCE West along the present South line of University Avenue, a distance of 114 feet to the N. E. corner of a tract of land conveyed by Sabrina Baker, et al, to Woodrow Baker, by deed dated October 3, 1946, recorded in Vol. 337, Page 194, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, which said tract was thereafter owned by Irene Lindquist,'et al, for the N. W. corner hereof; THENCE South, along the East line of the Woodrow Baker or Irene Lindquist, et al, lot, a distance of 91 feet to a point in the North line of a tract of land conveyed to B. E. Baker, et ux, to T. W. Hastings, by deed dated November 10, 1945, recorded in Vol. 329, Page 567, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, for the S W corner hereof; THENCE East along the North Line of the Hastings' lot a distance of 114 feet to Hastings' N. E. corner, being in the West I i ne of Hart Street, for the S. -E. corner hereof; THENCE North, along the West line of Hart Street, a distance of 91 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, and being the same property conveyed by Elmon Fisk,' et ux, to T. R. Spain, et ux, by Deed Dated March 5, 1962, recorded in Vol. 450, Page 45, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation and report; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from C-1 Local Commercial District to C-24 Local Commercial District, which siad decision was reached by the City Planning Comm- ission after having had a hearing on said matter on September 17, 1974, at 7:30 p.m., and WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same on August 29; 1974, in the Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown; Texas,',which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the first date of such publication; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the aforesaid change in the Zoning Ordinance; said approval being given by said Commission on September 17, 1974; and WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of the Lots within 200 feet of the above described property as required by law;
