Home My WebLink About0463_458458 ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, VACATING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY BETWEEN LOTS 1,3, 5, 7, 9, and 11, ON THE NORTH AND LOTS 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12, ON THE SOUTH IN AN AREA FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE CARVER PARK ADDITION. WHEREAS, on the plat of the Carver Park Addition to the City of Georgetown recorded in Vol. 2, p. 23, Plat Records, Williamson County, Texas, an area lying bet- ween Lots 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 on the North and Lots 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12, on the South, approximately fourteen feet in width is designated as an alley; and WHEREAS, in various deeds to the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown, reference is made to such alley; and WHEREAS, on the 21st day of August, 1970, the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown filed for record a re -plat of a portion of said Carver Park Addition, some being described as Block F, South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and recorded in Vol. 5, P. 67, Plat Records, Williamson County, Texas; and WHEREAS, on March 19, 1973, the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of George- town, filed for record a re -plat of another portion of said Carver Park Addition, same being designated Blocks F-1 and F-2, South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and recorded in Vol. 7, P. 60, Plat Re- cords, Williamson County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, on May 14, 1973, the City Council of the City of Georgetown adopted an ordinance vacating and abandoning an alley ten feet in width and extending in length east and west between Railroad Street and Bridge Street, and WHEREAS, a question has arisen as to whether or not the City of Georgetown has vacated and abandoned all of said alley, both as to width and as to its entirely through- out the area formerly designated as the Carver Park Addition; now therefore be it RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, in order to clear up any question of title regarding said alley, does hereby vacate and abandon said alley in its entirety. INTRODUCED AND PASSED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, on First Reading the 14th day ofApril 1975; and PASSED on Second and Final Reading this 12th day of May 1975.
