HomeMy WebLinkAbout0489_484RESOLVED that the Mayor, City Manager, and Secretary of the City Council of Georgetown, Texas, be and they are hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City and all instruments necessary to place on record a Plat and Dedication of said acres in the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, including the necessary dedication of any streets therein, and the inclusion of such conditions and/or restrictions as may be necessary under the Urban Renewal Plan as heretofore adopted and recorded in the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. McMaster, City Attorney S- •/6) ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF WEST FIFTH STREET IN THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A" HERETO ATTACHED, AND A PORTION OF WEST STREET IN SAID CITY, DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "B" HERETO ATTACHED AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the City Council by the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown, and by Rubenia Parker Smith, acting by and through her duly appointed and acting Guardian, Wanda Marie McDonald, having been so appointed in Cause No. #7428, Probate Court, Williamson County, Texas, and by William Edgar Taylor, with respect to certain properties situated in the Urban Renewal Project, South San Gabriel, Tex R-102; and WHEREAS, said petition states that the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of George- town and other property owners mentioned above, are the sole owners of all of Block 19 and all of Block 32,said Blocks being of the Original Townsite of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas; and WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Plan for this portion ofthe City of Georgetown calls for development of such Block 19 and 32 and a portion of West Fifth Street, described in Exhibit "A" hereto attached, and a portion of West Street, described in Exhibit "B" hereto attached, as a whole, and that in order for such development to proceed, it is necessary to vacate and abandon such portions of such streets; now therefore be it ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, that the portions of streets described in Exhibits ",A"' and "B" hereto attached, be and the same are hereby vacted, closed and abandoned. And, WHEREAS, in order to avoid a thirty days delay in making the lots out of such property available for construction of residences thereon, and it being represented to the City Council of the City of Georgetown by the Chairman and Secretary of the Urban Renewal Agency that there is a need for making such lots available for redevelopment in the Urban
