HomeMy WebLinkAbout0290_288288 A RESOLUTION AMENDING A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL LAND OWNED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN IN THE SOUTH SAN GABRIEL URBAN RENEWAL ADDITION AND SPECIFYING THE CONDITIONS OF THE SALE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, did pass and approve on the 10th day of October, 1978, a resolution, a true copy of which is attached as Exhibit I, authorizing the City Manager to sell any part of those parcels of land located in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition which were deeded to the City of Georgetown as a result of the closeout of the Georgetown Urban Renewal Project, subject to certain conditions and standards; WHEREAS, any future parcels sold shall be subject only to those cer- tain conditions and standards as described below, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that the above described resolution be amend- e:i as follows: Section 1. Conditions and Standards Deleted - the following conditions and standareks are hereby deleted from the above referenced resolution, and future land sLdes in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition by the City of Georgetown shall not be subject to them: (1) Land shall be sold by the City to the highest qualified bidder after receiving separate sealed bids in accordance with State and local law, provided however, that any bidder who is an Urban Renewal Project Area resident or ex -resident or who is related to an Urban Renewal resident or ex -resident as mother, father, daughter, son, grandmother, grandfather, granddaughter, grandson, brother or sister, shall have the option of meeting the highest bid and purchasing the parcel bid upon, unless the highest bidder is likewise an Urban Renewal resident or ex -resident or so related to an Urban Renewal resident or ex -resident, in which event, the option to meet the highest bid and purchase the property may be exercised by the highest bidder who is such a resident, ex - resident, or so related, and should he fail to exercise such option, same may be exercised by the next highest bidder among those who are residents, ex -residents, or so related to same, and so on, until a qualified option is exercised, or no bidder is eligible to exercise the option. (2) The minimum bid for any parcel to be sold shall be one and one-half times the estimated value of the property as provided in the Memorandum of Agreement between the City of George- town, Texas and the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of George- town. The City of Georgetown may reject any bid which is less than the minimum bid price so established. All lots will be sold for cash only. Section 2. Conditions and Standards Retained - Future land sales in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition by the City of Georgetown shall be subject to all conditions and standards specified in the above refer- enced resolution and not deleted by Section 1 of this resolkition. Section 3. Additional Conditions the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal shall be for cash only. and Standards - Future land sales in Addition by the City of Georgetown
