HomeMy WebLinkAbout0315_313(d) The owners and/or the new occupants of such buildings and/or premises shall make application to the city electrical inspector for inspection. .,The permit fee for such inspection shall be as set out in section 74, but shall be not less than a minimum of three dollars ($3. 00). The electrical inspector shall make the inspection within forty-eight (48) hours, exclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and+ holidays, from the time such application is made, or as soon thereafter as is practicable. Sec. - 6--15. Reserved. Article H. Licenses Division 1. Generally Sec. - 16. Definition. For the purposes of this article, the word "board" shall mean the Board of Electrical Examiners of the city. Sec. - 17. Application of article provisions to military personnel. Any holder of any valid, unexpired electrical license issued by the city, under the terms of this ordinance who becomes, or has become a member of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, is hereby exempt from the payment of any renewal on their license so long as they remain in such armed forces, and for six (6) months after their discharge therefrom. Any person coming under this section, who shall make application to th& city electrical department for the same type of license held by him at the time he entered the armed forces within the (6) six months' period, shall be issued such license upon the payment of the renewal fee for the year such application is made. Sec. - 18. Class of electrician; examination required --Electrical contractor. An electrical contractor's license shall entitle the holder thereof to contract for and engage in the business of installing, erecting or repairing electrical wires, conductors, devices, systems or instrumentalities and construction according to the provisions of this ordinance. Sec. - 19. Same --Master electrician. The master electrician's license shall entitle the holder thereof to superintend all electrical installations under the holder of an electrical contractor's license according to the provisions of this ordinance. The holder of a master electrician's license shall be entitled to be in general charge and supervision of the business of installing, erecting or repairing electrical wire, conductors, moulding, ducts, raceways, or conduits, electrical machinery, apparatus, devices, systems or instrumentalities, as the manager or superintendent of a licensed electrical contractor. He shall be required to pass an examination required for a master electrician. Sec. - 20 a. Same --Journeyman electrician. A journeyman electrician's license shall entitle the holder to work as an electrician for and under the holder of an electrical contractor's license, according to the provisions of this ordinance. The holder of a journeyman electrician's license shall be entitled to engage himself in the employ of any holder of an electrical contractor's license, under the supervision of a master electrician. He shall be required to pass an examination required for a journeyman electrician. 20 b. Same --Journeyman electrician (restricted). A journeyman electrician's (restricted) license shall entitle the holder to do work as an electrician for and under the holder of an electrical contractor's license according to the provisions of this ordinance as it applies to dwelling units only and further restricted to 115-230 volt, single phas service installations of 2OU am erej or less. We holder of a journeyman electricians restrictedlicense shall e entitled to engage himself in the employ of any holder, of an electrical contractors license, under the supervision of a master electrician. He shall be required to - pass an examination required for a journeyman electrician as it applies to dwelling units and 115-230 volt, single phase service installations of 200 amperes or less. Seca - 21. Same --Apprentice electrician. The holder of an apprentice electrician's license shall be entitled to engage himself in the employ of any holder of an electrical contractor's license, while under the supervision of a master electrician or a journeyman electrician on the job site.
