(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to transfer his electrician's license or to allow the use of his license directly or indirectly by any other person for the purpose of obtaining a permit to do electrical work. It shall also be unlawful for any person not holding a license to use the license of another for the purpose of doing electrical work or for the purpose of securing a permit to do electrical work. (b) Where the holder of a license changes the firm name under which he operates, or where additional members are taken into the firm or where the firm is incorporated, a notice of such changes shall be forwarded to the city electrical inspector; otherwise. such license, shall be subject to revocation because of its questionable ownership. Sec. - 35. Revocation of license. Any electrical license of any class issued by the city under the provisions of this ordinance may be suspended or revoked by the city council upon the recommenda- tion of the board should the holder violate any provision of this Code, state law or city ordinance or regulation relating to or governing electrical wiring, repairing or construction. Any person whose license shall have been revoked, shall not again be licensed within a period of one (1) year from the date of such action, but no license shall be suspended or revoked.unless the licensee shall have been given an oppor- tunity to appear and be heard by the board and subsequently by the city council of which hearings he must have had at least ten (10) days' written notice specifying the reasons therefor. Sec. - 36-46. Reserved. DIVISION 2. BOARD CP ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS Sec. 47. Created. There is hereby created and established in and for the city a board which shall be known as the Board of Electrical Examiners. Sec. - 48. Members. The board shall consist of six (6) members who shall be appointed by the City Council. Of these six (6) members, two (2) shall be licensed and active master electricians with principal business offices established in Georgetown, Texas; one (1) member may be an Electrical Engineer or master electrician with at least ten (10) years experience as an electrician and with a principal business office established in Georgetown, Texas; one (1) member shall be a journeyman electrician except a master electrician may serve the first term; one (1) member shall be an owner of a business whose principal office is located in Georgetown, Texas, but is not actively engaged in the electrical trade or electrical business, but who shall be familiar with building and construction trades; and one (1) member shall be a homeowner citizen of Georgetown with knowledge of the electrical trade. Sec. - 49. Same -Ex officio members. The city electrical inspector and the city electrical superintendent shall serve on the board as ex officio members while holding their respective offices. No ex officio member of the board shall have the right to vote in the proceedings of the board. Sec. - 50. Same --Terms. The appointed members of the board shall hold office for a period of two (2) years or until their successors have been duly appointed and qualified; provided however, that the initial appointments made under this section shall be for terms of such duration that no more than two (2) of the terms shall expire in any one year; and provided further, that the terms of the two (2) master electricians shall not expire the same year. Sea - 51. Same Compensation. The members of the board shall serve with no compensation whatsoever.
