The appointed members of the board shall elect as chairman of the board one of

Sec. - 54. Secretary.
The city electrical inspector shall be the secretary of the board and shall
keep a full record of all proceedings of the board and such other records as the
board may direct.
Sec. - 55. Meetings.
The board shall have the power to make and promulgate its own rules governing
its meetings and proceedings, subject to 'the provisions of this ordinance,- but the
board shall have at least one (1) regular meeting each calendar month. Special
meetings of the board shall be called by the chairman of the board or upon the
written request of two (2) members of the board.
Sec. i-56. Examination of electricians.
(a) It shall be the duty of the board to examine and pass upon the fitness and
qualifications of all persons applying for license under the provisions of this article,
and to certify to the city building official applicants as are found by the board to
possess satisfactory knowledge, fitness and ability as electricians and familiarity
with and understanding of the rules, ordinances and regulations governing electrical
wiring, repairing and construction in the city. The examination shall relate to the
fitness and qualifications of each applicant for the particular class of license for
whieh.he has applied.
(b) Electricians holding a currently valid license or certificate of registration issued
by or from another city located within the State of Texas may apply for and receive a
similar license or certificate of registration from and by the City of Georgetown, Texas,
without taking any examination, provided the following conditions precedent are fully
performed and complied with:
(1) Such electrician shall submit evidence satisfactory to the building official
of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that his electrician's license or certificate
of registration was issued by and from another city within the State of Texas,
and that such electrician presently and properly holds a currently valid
electrician's license or certificate of registration from and by such city,
and further, that the city which issued said electrician's license or certificate
of registration does and is, as an act of mutual reciprocity, under said other
cities' ordinances, honor and accept electricians' licenses or certificates
of registration issued by the City of Georgetown, Texas, and does permit,
and is permitting, such electricians licensed or certificated by the City of
Georgetown, Texas, to apply for and obtain similar electricians' licenses
or certificates of registration and in fact, does perform electricians' work
within the city limits of said other city of the State of Texas.
( 2) Such electrician licensed or certificated by another city within the State of
Texas shall pay the fee required for registration and licensing under the
electrical code of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and such said electrician
shall comply with all other requirements of said electrical code, save and
except, that such electrician shall not be required to take any type d
examination.
