(3) The building official of the City of Georgetown, Texas, shall keep an
accurate and current record of the names of all cities located within the
State of Texas that, by and as an act of mutual reciprocity, agrees to,
and, in fact, perform the essential reciprocal conditions and provisions
set out in this section.
Sec. - 57. Power to hear appeals.
The board shall have the power to hear appeals and render decisions upon
rulings and refusals of rulings by the chief electrical inspector when requests of a
modification of or a variation from the provisions of this chapter have been made.
Sec. 58. Appeals --Notice to board
Whenever any person has requested a special ruling or permission under the pro-
visions of this ordinance, and such ruling has been refused, and such person is
aggrieved by such ruling or refusal, he may appeal such,: or refusal to the board for
review. Such appeal shall be perfected by giving a written notice containing the
following information to the chairman of the board:
(a) Name and address of person making appeal;
(b) Facts surrounding the particular4ruling or refusal to make ruling;
(c) The ruling, if any, of the chief electrical inspector;
(d) Reasons why such ruling should be set aside, or, if a ruling were refused,
why such ruling should be made.
The person making the appeal shall send copies of such appeal to the chief
electrical inspector and the city attorney.
Sec. - 59. Same --Hearing.
Upon receiving a notice of appeal, the chairman of the board shall make an
order setting the appeal for hearing at a specified time and place, and shall give
notice of such information in writing to the person making the appeal, the chief
electrical inspector, and the city attorney.
The hearing shall be held as soon as is practicable, and in all cases shall
be within two (2) weeks after the notice of appeal is received by the chairman of the
board, unless the person making this appeal requests in writing that he be granted
additional time. If such person has failed to make his appearance at the proper
time and place to present his appeal, then at the third (3rd) consecutive regular
meeting of the board after such notice of appeal has been received by the chairman,
such appeal shall be dismissed by the board.
Sec. - 60. Same --Effect during proceedings.
During the pendency of the appeal to the board, the ruling or refusal of the
inspector shall be in full force and effect.

Article M. Permits and Inspections
Sec. - 71. Inspection no relief from responsibility.
This article shall not be construed to relieve from or lessen the responsibilities
of any person owning, operating or installing electrical wires, appliances, apparatuk
construction, or equipment for the damage to property or persons, injured by any
defect therein, nor shall the city or any agent thereof be deemed to assume any such
liability by reason of the inspection authorized herein or the certificate of inspection
issued by the city electrical inspector.
