HomeMy WebLinkAbout0355_35353 ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, BEYOND THE DISTANCE LIMITATIONS IMPOSED BY THE MUNICIPAL ANNEXATION ACT (SUB -SECTION A OF ARTICLE 970a, VERNON'S ANNOTATED CIVIL STATUTES) TO INCLUDE THEREIN CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO THE OTHERWISE EXISTING EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF SAID CITY DESCRIBING THE LAND CONTAINED WITHIN SUCH EXTENSION AND RECITING THAT SUCH EXTENSION IS MADE BECAUSE THE OWNER OF SUCH CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY HAS IN WRITING REQUESTED SUCH EXTENSION PROVIDING THAT SUCH EXTENSION IN NO WAY CONFLICTS WITH THE EXISTING EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF ANY OTHER CITY, AND GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES INHERENT TO INCLUSION IN TH RATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, NO D ING AN EMERGENCY AND STATING THE REASON FOR SUCH EMERGENC . WHEREAS, a written request has been duly p epared executed and delivered to the City Council of the City of Georg town ca lin fop and requesting that the land described on Exhibit "A",which i attache hereto and incorporated herein for all purposeso the s e and fu k extent as if copied herein word for word, be included in thel extra te ritorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown and that such ext aterrito ial jurisdiction of such City be extended to include said area, s4ich wr ten r quest having been signed by all owners of any an4 all interest whatsoever in such real property, and WHEREAS,aid tract of nd is contiguous to the otherwise existing extraterritoria jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the 8th day of May, 1979, at a regular meeting, and WHEREAS, after fully considering such written request and after a full hearing on such matter the City Council voted by unanimous vote of all members present to grant such written request and to extend the otherwise existing extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown. Texas, to include r said property herein described and described in such written request, and WHEREAS, the said area of extension herein described in no way conflicts with the existing extraterritorial jurisdiction of any other city or cities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas
