HomeMy WebLinkAbout0416_414414 ORDINANCE 79-23 AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A 20 FOOT WIDE ALLEY LYING BETWEEN BLOCK 13 AND BLOCK 14 OF THE SOUTHSIDE ADDITION IN AND TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF OF RECORD, PLAT RECORDS, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND EXECUTION OF QUIT CLAIM DEEDS FROM THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TO THE OWNERS OF PROPERTY ADJOINING AND ADJACENT TO SAID ,ALLEY. TEXAS: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WHEREAS, a petition has been received from George P. [avala, Alfredo M. Bracamontez, and Billy D. Davis, the owners of land adjoining an alley between Block 13 and Block 14 of the Southside Addition in and to the City of Georgetown, Texas; WHEREAS, the petition states that the said alley has not been used by the public in many years and in fact has been abandoned; WHEREAS, petitioners state they are owners of the tracts of land adjoining said alley which is requested to be vacated and closed; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that the alley between Block 13 and Block 14 of the Southside Addition in and to the City of Georgetown, Texas be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and abandoned, except that the City of Georgetown reserves for itself or for any public utility company, the right to install, maintain, repair and replace any water, sewer or other utility line located or to be located in, upon and over said alley; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Mayor of the City of Georgetown is hereby authorized and directed to execute quit claim deeds on behalf of the City conveying the right, title and interest of the City in and to said property and conveying the north one-half thereof to George P. Zavala and wife, Martha A. Zavala and Billy D. Davis and wife and the south one-half thereof to Alfredo M. Bracamontez or their nominees.
