RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGE-
TOWN TO GIVE NOTICE UNDER ARTICLE 1446c, 43(d) TO
LONE STAR GAR COMPANY TO SUSPEND OPERATION OF A
SCHEDULE OF RATES AND TARIFFS PENDING A DETERMINA-
TION BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN CONCERNING THE
SCHEDULE OF RATES PROPOSED BY LONE STAR GAS
COMPANY
WHEREAS, heretofore Lone Star Gas Company filed a state-
ment of intent to change rates for gas sold to residential
and commercial customers within the City limits of Georgetown,
Williamson County, Texas, such statement being filed on or about
May 9, 1979; and,
WHEREAS, City of Georgetown has been given written notice
by Lone Star Gas Company that such changed rates are to be placed
into effect on and after June 14, 1979; and,
WHEREAS, Article 1446c, Section 43d, Vernon's Annotated Civil
Statutes makes provision for the suspension of the operation of
such sohedule of rates and tariffs for a period not to exceed 120
days beyond the date on which the schedule of rates would other-
wise go into effect and further provides for an additional extension
of the period of suspension for and additional period of 30 days if
the need arises:
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY'OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, hereinafter referred to as Regulatory Authority,
that the Mayor of the City of Georgetown, Texas, shall notify Lone
Star Gas Company on behalf of Regulatory Authority that there is a
need to suspend the operation of the schedule of rates for a period
of 120 days from June 14, 1979, so that Regulatory Authority may
be furnished with additional data and information not only from
Lone Star Gas Company but from other sources and so that Regulatory
Authority shall have the needed and necessary time for a study and
determination based upon such data.
RESOLVED AND PASSED this 10th day of July, 1979.
